Heat Bill

I believe mine was like $175 ... damn wife never turns it down either. *sigh* This months will probably exceed $200.

I know all about this though as this is when my industry thrives. (Propane)

I usually keep my thermostat pegged to 65/68 on the weekends but the last month I had it cranked a few days because I had family visiting and didn't want to freeze them out.

And why is 15lbs of propane $20? That seems awfully expensive to me.. your business is preying on the gas grillers, and that's fine because grilling with gas is shameful, but when I need propane for brewing beer, a noble cause indeed, I get the shaft!

What gives, Gas Man?

When I was in college my senior year, I lived in a house with my brother and two other guys. In February that year, there was a stretch of 10 days where it didn't get above 17 degress, the low for most of those nights was around 4 degrees:( Our strip heaters were on for four days straight, the electric bill for that month was $255! Thank goodness I had three other roomates.

It hasn't been that bad this winter, but the bills haven't been nice either:rolleyes:

If you regularly use cylinders then find a propane retailer that fills bottles (like a mom and pop though) and you can usually get a bigger discount.

The mark up is insane, that I know. We're distributers.

Ouch, I don't think out here in Johnson County I'm going to find a mom and pop propane filler...

BLAST! I usually get about 4 batches boiled out of 15lbs of propane using my 210k BTU burner so long as I'm not doing 1.5 hour boils, so I could use any trick to bring the cost per batch down.. propane prices would be a nice reduction...

Man electric bills are SOOOOOOO BS!

I think they come around and take a general reading of the neighborhood then do a median charge for everyone.

I live in San Diego and KNOW I don't use that much power... I have an HDTV but it's on a power strip that's turned off every night. That's got to be the biggest drain on my power... yet some months my bill jumps up WAY high for NO reason.
