Just got an £18 payment through the door for this, the first ever for a K Packet delivery in about 50 deliveries I guess. I can only presume Kimchi have marked it up wrong or not included the invoice in the box. I'll be dropping them a line when I know what was wrong.

Same this is the first time I've ever been hit with customs i even ordered a hobbit collectors edition with statue from the states off amazon and that got through. Don't know how but yet this even being marked down has been hit.

Do you know what value was on the box and the invoice for 'Her'?

A few people reported the value being marked as $25, Narg's post would support this as the charge would be £11.11 on that amount. If that's the case people are being hit by customs for going around 60 pence over the limit.

Got an answer from Tony who said that an empty Steelbook of "Her" will be shipped to me along with my next order, which means with Dallas Buyer club.

Can't wait to get them. And big Thanks to Tony and Kimchidvd.

Going by exchange rate $25.00 = £15.75 Sterling and would be even more if you use customs set monthly exchange rate
75 pence over the limit of £15.00 allowed without paying vat

That's UK customs really pushing it even if its within their rights to do it
In Rep of Ireland customs they usually only bill you if its a lot over the limit

It looks as if they marked majority of the parcels sent as $25.00 on the customs slip on the packaging with no invoice inside were customers requested different value to be put on the packaging

For a lot of EU countries $25.00 = €20.06 would be ok as lot of EU countries its €22.00 euro limit allowed before vat for DVD/Blu-ray has to be paid sent from outside of the EU except a few countries like the UK were is only £15.00

Problem is with no invoice inside if a parcel is opened to be inspected and they see no invoice it might be a problem with customs

This is the first release I have seen were majority of customers request to mark as merchandize less than $20.00 on packaging and invoice was not done and instead marked as $25.00 and also not included an invoice

If customs VAT/taxes comes to less than £4 then the fees get waived, so even if it is a little over the customs limit it is safe, technically it means we have a £19 limit depending on the exchange rate, so no one in the UK should get charged customs if it was marked at $25 anyway...

So I'm not sure what has gone on... Mine has still not arrived and was the flight to the UK was over a week ago. Mine was marked at $18.99 and merchandise. When it arrives I'll see what happens...

It was caused by them not doing as you requested
From what I can tell they put $25.00 on all the parcels instead were its was requested by customers to be less
I know not have to pay more just to get it in my hands. Probably go pick it up tomorrow from the sorting office.

I've never heard of that but I think the problem here may be if Kimchi have not included the invoice inside anyone's box. I've been charged £18 so I've no idea where they've pulled that figure from if the parcel was marked with $25.

I'm a bit at a loss over this one too as I'm still awaiting mine too, I thought I had a faint grasp on customs and charges but that's all been thrown out of the window over the past week or so. I ordered the I Saw the Devil full Paper Slip and The Master from P.A via K-packet and they took exactly 2 weeks for them to be delivered by my postman from the initial dispatch date. I've seen that some people here in the UK were receiving their K-packets of the full PET slip editions before I received my paper slip despite them being sent some 4-5 days later than mine so I was sure I was going to be hit by customs, but they arrived with no charges at all.
The tracking says mine arrived into GBLALA yesterday so hopefully a few of us who are still waiting might get them either at the end of this week or perhaps early next week, but who knows, it could be another week or so from now if my P.A orders were anything to go by. As for if it will have attracted customs my guess is as good as anyone's, but from the people over here who have either got theirs or received customs charges it looks like it could be 50/50 at the moment, regardless of what the declaration is.

That's what I was told by mint post office at least... £18 is totally random though, they should have let it by as it was marked under the value, and until they can prove otherwise we shouldn't't have too... UK customs really sucks!

Maybe you could call them up and question it, if not to reduce the costs then just to find out why you have been charged so much as you shouldn't't have had too...

My other couple of experiences with UK customs, and from comments on here, would suggest their maths is very random when working it out, they seem all over the place most of the time. My only fear with challenging it is that they'll probably ask for actual proof of the items value, which would be worse.

The current exchange rate is £1 = $1.6052 so a package marked at $25 would equate to £15.57 which is why Narg was asked to pay £11.11 (20% VAT + £8 handling fee). It is pretty ridiculous to be hit with a charge of that size for being 57 pence over the limit but I accept that the line has to be drawn somewhere.

If the value of the package is not marked as requested then I would ask Kimchi to cover the charge personally.
