Q: Where can I find a list of Steelbooks released?

Q: Can I play movies contained inside Steelbooks on my Blu-Ray Player?

A: It depends-Blu-Rays are coded with Region A, B or C. Most Blu-Rays are "unlocked", regardless of what region they are, but it's always a good idea to check this forum or web resources before buying, as some are "locked".

Q: What are the differences between Steelbooks™, Iron Packs™, Metal Paks™, Viva Metal Boxes, Tins, etc?

Sorry DB that I didn't post this in the oppropriate thread but it's still locked which is cool. I just wanted to bump this to see if any new info has come to light. Is there any new info on The Immortals 3D [NL] and whether it will be two completely different steelbooks or the same steelbook just with different slip covers? Or any other info for that matter.

why do steelbook collectors never show their faces in videos? not that i want to see them but its quite frustrating never being able to put a voice with a face lol

Also do you think itll ever be possible to make a steelbook rare? for example if we rallyed up everyone on this site to buy a certain steelbook untill it sells out, surely that would make it rare lol

I think it depends on the person making the video. :)

I've seen a couple of collectors that always show up in their vids.

Well, the more likely scenario would be if this site or a retailer rallied to create an exclusive steelbook with a small print run, and then as members of this site, we all purchase a copy or two.

In that way, the steelbook would be rare as it was offered to members of this forum or members of a couple forums.
 
This is the last time I order from amazon.ca!!! Every single copy of Requeim for a Dream and Sin City dented. I had 3 other steelbooks for a total of 9 that were perfect. This leads me to believe they were dented before packaging. Screw them. Thank goodness I dont rely on them for anything.

I had the same issue Chip with Kill Bill Vol. 1. The first one they sent looked like someone stepped on it so they agreed to send me a replacement copy. Of course they sent it via bubble mailer, which means dents galore. Now they are telling me they can only send one replacement. If it doesn't work I have two options: Keep it and get 20% off or return it and get a full refund. Terrible...
 
I received a order of two SBs from ama.ca (Dusk till dawn and American History X) in that cardboard box, the Dusk was dented (not too bad), and they send the replacement in the bubble mailer! Arrived yesterday in mint condition!!!
This was the 3rd time i had to ask for a replacemnt on dented steels and the replacments arrived in mint condition every time (even in that envelopes!)...
But it is always a gamble and annoying to tell them that a Steelbook arrived damaged!

I just ordered there again because of the price reductions and was still missing the Ameican History X

But still waiting for 1 Requiem and 1 Shaun that were ordered on that day also...

I've had my 5th one from .ca arrive today and so far (touch wood) had no trouble apart from the Kill Bill disk being loose. I must be VERY lucky as everyone else seems to have loads of aggro with them. I just hope my next 4 are as good.
 
if you report an item from .ca damaged to you have to return the item or do they just send a replacement copy?

For me they attempted to send a replacement the first time but when it came dented again they only offered a 20% discount to keep the damaged steelbook or to return everything for a full refund. I'm not sure if this is the case for everyone as it might vary depending on your location. They told me that they are only allowed to send one replacement so if it doesn't work you get the options I mentioned above.
 
I posted in the Kill Bill.ca thread a while back, but I went through 4 of these and all of them were dented to some extent.

Things like ripped celophane in the middle of the SB, when there is no damage to the outer packaging, make me thinkthey are sending them out dented.

I sitll shop with them as the customer service is superb.
 
Just wondering, why Amazon.ca doesn't want to learn from another Amazon packaging for steelbook?
If they constantly get complain from their buyer about poor packaging and must sent the replacement or send a refund, does it not bothering and troublesome their self? :wtf:
Imo, for a huge retail online store like Amazon.ca, they should listen, learn and at the end try to fix the issue after receive negative feedback from customers, moreover in this case "poor packaging", which I believe they often get complaint about this.
 
I always rate the packaging as low as possible after purchase regardless of the condition the SB arrives in.

It's purely down to luck if you get damage and as you've said, they should learn and adopt the same packaging as the other amazon sites, well excluding amazon.it who are also ropey

Yesterday i received the fourth damaged SB from ama.ca (out of 10-12 ordered)!
The 3 times before they just send a replacement and told me to keep the damaged ones and the replacements arrived damage free on all 3 occasions (even with their poor packaging in that padded envelopes!)...
Let's see what they do now!

Maybe they offer a discount when the replacement again arrives damaged???

amazon.ca never offers me nothing ... always tells me to return which is a pain the ass and so far has always ended up costing me.

The biggest laugh tho came from amazon.de one time. They offered me a 1euro refund on a damaged steel. After I ripped them a bit on 1 euro refund they then offered to replace.

HMV gave me a 5 Pound Voucher for the damaged DRIVE i received and kept as they could not replace it...
play.com is the worst!!! Told me to send the damaged for replacement and i ASKED SEVERAL times if they can guarentee that tehy can send a replacement as item seems to be not in stock (Planet of the Apes and X-Men)... no answer and then again, send the damaged one for replacement!

That's weird..I've sent three back now and they've replaced them (although I have a feeling they the replacements are other peoples returns). I even sent one of those back asking for a refund and they ignored me and sent a replacement. EEK!

Don't worry Ryan is still sitting patiently to come to you though :)
