Plain Archive is excited to announce the release of I Saw The Devil Steelbook. We've been asked by Blue Kino, another Korean Blu-ray company to design the Steelbook edition which will be PLAIN ARCHIVE's exclusive.
We were hoping to release the world's first Steelbook edition of I Saw The Devil, but Zavvi announced its own before we could. The news made us reconsider the project, but with director Kim Jee-woon's support, we couldn't drop it.
I Saw The Devil Steelbook will be released under the approval of director Kim, and we are working on the artwork as we speak.

No offence but every time when there's a german or french steelbook with the specific language on the steelbook everybody is running away from that.
But now everybody thinks is a great idea.

Yes,but only if it's US or UK movies. If it's a french or german movie,title and spine should be in french/german. And I am sure that the majority of HDN community has the same opinion.

I actually prefer your mock up over Plain's as I think the title fits better at the bottom.

I still of course choose the version with the Korean title on the spine.

That looks so much better. The title makes more sense at the bottom, and the English title is more consistent with their other releases.

That's good work you have done with your mock ups

To keep all happy they could have like the Kimchidvd releases have both English and Korea Text on the Full Slip Covers and Lenticular Slip Covers Spines and even on the steelbook spine itself if needed

As they have The English Title on the Front why not have it on the spine and also have the Korea text also on the spine also

This release has both the Korea and international versions of the movie so to me it makes sense to have both English and Korea text in my opinion

But they might already have gone final with the artwork choice

I hope they stick with the Korean title on the spine. Definitely adds more class and, like someone mentioned before, a certain "exotic" feel to the overall image of the steelbook. Truthfully, if it were up to me, none of the Korean releases for Korean films would have any English writing on their artwork. But, alas...we can't always get what we want. Nevertheless, i'll be buying this release. Not only will it be my first Plain Archive release, this film takes second place on my "favorite K-Films" list, as well.

Great to hear it's going to feature both the Korean and International versions of the film. They are very similar, yet feel quite different when watched and compared to each other. Thankfully, i have had this little gem in my K-Film collection, so i have been able to enjoy both versions for some time, now.

That's true of any release from any retailer. People had to get up at 6 in the morning for kimchi release. If you want it badly enough then you find a way.. I am totally against this trend of group buys for releases from retailers that you can order direct from.
