This is the easiest one click decision for me. Both options are absolutely stunning. There's simply no choosing between the two. Not to mention, this is an Academy Award winning film that I've been wanting to see for a along time now. I hope PA keeps up it's tradition of including a folded poster with this release.

Pass. There's not much to get very excited about here unfortunately for me. The film sounds interesting, but I'd be happy with the Artificial Eye amaray for £6.

The AE amaray has zero special features whereas this looks to have a decent set. Could be a selling point if you like the film enough.

I still need to check out this film (might try and watch it tonight if it's still on Netflix). As far as artwork goes, I think I prefer Type B... although both editions look really nice!

Highly doubt a PA title will stay in stock for long.
The unwritten rule around here is "buy now, think later"
Welcome to HDN, have fun :LOL:
I would be pretty surprised if Ida sells out right off. I mean you can still get certain editions of Melancholia, The Master, and The Wrestler direct from PA's site.

I would be kinda surprised, but still, it is PA. The reason why those are still available is because Melancholia is the non-exclusive version; The Master had 5 different editions, and 3 out of 5 is sold out. The only outlier is The Wrestler; still not sure why exactly that is. But it might be because it was their 1st steelbook, when no one really knew PA existed and plus their print run was 3500 I believe? I think that's a risky move for a first steelbook.

Look at ZDT, it had 5000 copies yet it sold out right away. Sure, it's more popular than Ida but it is not Marvel/DC famous.

The Wrestler was 3000, I am suprised it's still in stock though. You would think PA completists would be snapping this up.

5000 is a misleading number, obviously there are hundreds of people who bought one or two of each design. Now of course the PET Slip had 2000 and they sold out right off. Still, while Zero Dark Thirty is not Marvel/DC famous, it's a way bigger title than Ida. So I maintain that I would be surprised if this sells out very quickly.

Though I probably would have said the same thing about Rust and Bone.

Yea that's surprising as well. I guess most people wanted the full slip and that's sold out. I think only the 1/4 slip and keepcase editions are still available.

Well, yes, I'm aware there wasn't 5000 individual transactions for ZDT, that would be crazy and amazing! But no matter which release look at, many collectors buy more than one copy of the same edition or at least one copy of each different edition. But their print run was actually 5000, and that's not misleading.
ZDT is definitely a bigger title than Ida but still, I wouldn't be really surprised to see it sell out. That's the kind of effect PA has on collectors. And I think that's the biggest compliment/respect any company can receive.
