how can this be sold out while the others are still available?
this one was placed much later

Im guessing a lot of folks are in the same boat as me, Ive just recently bought the fancy boxset, if I hadnt or the steels had been announced around the time of the Blu ray boxset I would have probably gone for the steelbooks, but so recently after buying the complete adventures boxset I cant justify spending another £60 buying the films again, so Ive just bought Raiders as a compromise to go alongside my ever growing Spielberg steelbook collection, and of the 3 films its my favourite, plus if I bought the trilogy steelbooks the OCD collector in me would make me buy the 4th film...so just buying Raiders stops me ;)

Guys, there's plenty of time before release for this to re-appear then disappear...Etc.

Maybe one of the Staff can update with a stock level?

I cant believe how unobservant i have been lol... I just noticed that the title says "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Arc", and not just "Raiders of the Lost Arc"... I no that that is what it is called now, but i just wish that they would have stuck with its original name and lost the "Indiana Jones"...

You and me both.

To my mind, steelbooks are for collectors and/or cinephiles. It should always be the best release available (especially considering the retail price usually attached to them). As such, I really don't like it when things such as Raiders of the Lost Ark has to have 'Indiana Jones and the' plastered in front of it reagrdless of what Spielberg or Lucas might have decided. In the same vein, I also hate it when III's become 3's etc. or Mission: Impossible becomes M:I - Mission: Impossible because of the 3rd one.

These are going to look great as a set, so it would ruin it to not use 'Indiana Jones and the...' on each Steelbook.

I completley get that, it wouldn't fit in as much as it would without the "Indiana Jones and the", but even so, i personally think that they souldn't mess with the original names, but that is all down to personal prefrence and everyone has their own tastes...

The worst two examples of this that i can give is "First Blood" and how in some newer editions the credits in the film call it "Rambo: First Blood"... The other would be "Star Wars", and how George Lucas insists on changing some of the footage such as changing Yoda from a puppet in the "Phantom of the Menace" to CGI for the blu ray release... In my opinion that is not right as then you are not watching the origional film we fell in love with in the first place... I mean, imagine if they replaced the words "Mario Puzo's The Godfather" with "Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather", it just wouldn't be right...

But like i say, its all down to personal prefrence, some can tollerate it and others hate it, i for one hate it but thats just me, some may even prefer it, and thats fine too... :)

I actually wouldn't even mind so much if they actually changed the title on-screen to Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, at least it would be consistant with the packaging.

Obviously that's still not ideal, and like XXHappy says, I wouldn't be keen on seeing Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather any more than I like seeing the yellow tinted Paramount logo it now has, or being told that The Exorcist was made by Warner Bros. A Time/AOL company.

...And how Halloween now says "Universal Pictures Presents" rather than "Moustapha Akkad Presents" lol

As such, would you like to see some retroactive titles on franchises that underwent title changes?

Rambo: First Blood Part I or The Dark Knight Begins for example.

I didn't say I would like to see any franchise under go title changes. In this particular instance, I think it makes sense for them to use the official title of the movie for the Steelbook release simply because it will make them look nice as a set.

By the way, your second suggestion is silly. There is a difference between adding a prefix for uniformity and changing the title of a film completely.

I know what you're saying, and from a matching standpoint and even to create uniformity accross the franchise I can see why it might appeal.

As I say though, I'm not a fan. I don't like things getting rebranded just to be consistant. Sure, it's not the only example but to my mind that doesn't make it right.

The Play.com (now Zavvi) steelbooks for the first 3 mission impossible movies now match on the shelf (even if the spines are very uninspired), but essentially they've rebranded the first 2 to match the third, even though they didn't with the 4th. The discs still have the original poster fonts so don't match the cases and the second one doesn't match the movie font either.

Changing Batman Begins to The Dark Knight Begins or The Dark Knight: Batman Begins would be the equivalent to the title change of Raiders and I for one wouldn't be keen on seeing that on my Blu-ray case even if it did match better. As noted, there have been a few franchises that have undergone name changes with Rambo being the most comparable. The second part added the character's name just like Temple of Doom but that doesn't mean I want the box saying Rambo: First Blood (which some cases do). Rambo was the subtitle for number II (even if it does appear above the actual title) just like The Marsupials: The Howling III, Badge of Silence: Maniac Cop 3 and Dead On: Relentless II.

Another example I really don't like is The Chronicles of Riddick: Pitch Black making it sound like a sequel to The Chronicles of Riddick.

Anyway, what's done is done and I'll be buying it regardless as title change or not, it's still one of my favourite films and I didn't pick up the boxset.

Received same e-mail. But they will not cancel it for sure, as it's gonna get sold out pretty fast if any stock is remaining.

Mostly likely new release date coming. I am having a hunch it's in May 2nd or 3rd week. Just an intuition. Lot of steels releasing on 1 week of June.
