Finally, we are approved with the Inglourious Basterds Manta Lab Exclusive Steelbook. We've been working on this release since last September (not 2018) and took us 1 year to finally get the rights, design and final approval for this movie. It is one of our favorite movies of all time from Tarantino so we hope we've done a good job with the package. We had a plan to start the pre-order for this movie in late October but due to our recent late production and delay with the previous releases, we have decided to put on a hold until we finish all shipping up to The Shape of Water. Manta nailed it. Steelbook is perfect (hope for super glossy) and I like all the slips as well. Would probably go with DL, but fullslip is killer too. SL is good, but weakest of the three, it´s not only Brad´s movie so I´m not feeling this one, back is cool though. Can´t wait to another rewatch of this hilarious masterpiece

Can you post some concept arts of what would have done it for you? I think these are amazing personally.

Yeah I think in the end it's just coming down to that everyone has a different taste I think there isn't a lot of official artwork that represents the movie in a good way, similar to blade runner 2049. Both are movies i deeply love.

I think i generally like more minimalistic artworks, especially when it comes to a film like this and when you have the chance to release 3 premium editions outside the normal 'mainstream' blu rays were a more traditional poster artwork design is required by the studios.

They could have done something similar to the revenant leather fullslip for example, would have fit this movie so perfectly. Make a leather fullslip (maybe brighter and more worn than the revenant) and have the booklet or envelopes be in the stained envelope paper design and have the steelbook have an ammo metal case design or something. I don't know. I was just hoping for something like that.

In any case you can pretty much guarantee that most things from Manta / Nova / Kimchi / Blufans will be glossy in the same way you can guarantee most WWA steels and zavvi exclusives will be matte (and crap ).

I am torn between full and double but leaning toward full slip.

Only thing is i can’t tell is if the art on the front is a drawing of the cast or made up of actual photos.

What does anyone else think.?

Looks like photos with an effect on them to make them look like drawings/paintings. Brad Pitt's face, for instance, is definitely from the photo on the steelbook. I personally love the way it looks and it's a no brainer for my taste that the full slip is the winner, and I'm usually always a lenti man.

Turns out I was wrong. I found a high-res version of the poster they seem to be using, it is definitely a drawing/painting. Very surprised they got approved to use this but I love it!

Not entirely true, it is allowed in art § 86 (3) StGB and movies are an accepted artform in Germany.

I know the IB Steelbook we got before was censored but many publisher do that on there own to take no 'risks'
