Since the release date is 8th of May, means it will be shipped very very soon

For the GB here, is it a shipping to Hub or direct shipping to buyer from HDZeta?

For all those that missed out that still have the original release, as this is pretty much identicle to the first gold label release, why don’t you just add a 4K disc in there?

I have the boxset and that’s exactly what I planned to do anyway

It’s definitely improved over the old one, but not to an extent where I’d upgrade at this price if I had the original. I’m sure it will be worth it for some though.

I just think if you own the original it’s not really worth paying £100 for an ‘upgraded version’.

No one is disputing the upgraded is better  :p

Is it worth the extra £100?

You can decide. Just giving an alternative with adding a 4K disc.

what extra 100gbp are we talking about? buying directly from hdzeta is 53gbp.. and youd probably be able to sell your old release for the same price so basicly its a free upgrade

Talking about buying from ebay sellers if you weren‘t able to get one in the GB / HDZeta site

ok, makes sense... but again it wouldnt be 100gbp, but 100gbp minus what you get for your old release...
THIS!

You could still obtain it at a reasonable price if you offload your original one.

Unless you're greedy and want both!!! :p

I'm no expert, but you should be able to get at least £50 for the original right?

So £50 for the old release, sell that to offset the cost for the upgraded release of £100. You are still paying £100 which ever way you look at it. Except the old release unlikely you get £50 if it is opened and used.

So my suggestion before is consider adding a 4K disc. Perfectly reasonable alternative.

Sold my original release for £31 so the new one has cost me £35. I’m happy with that

To anybody who missed out on this release because they paid attention to and relied on the GB live time posted earlier in the OP.

I added that information (verbatim, slightly edited for clarity) in the OP, on Tuesday, May 1st, based on Xin's post.

What I didn't know, was that "GB at the same time" hadn't actually been pre-arranged with HDN folks who approve and activate GB threads. My mistake, and in hindsight, I should've known better.

As soon as I noticed Andy's post about the random time window, and was able to edit, I updated the timing in the OP but of course that information came way too late for many.

While the sincere intent was to provide visibility for useful information, that didn't quite work out.

With a severely limited release, a lot of collectors will miss out, that's a fact of life.

However, being in that situation feels especially bitter when one didn't even get a chance at the GB live time, because the advance timing information was not accurate. I get that, and I am sorry if you missed out.

For what it's worth, I missed out on this release, too.

I couldn't be in the GB forum at the exact time the GB went live ("snap, they were gone"), and at the HDzeta store I was busily F5'ing in the "Gold label" section when the product page went live, thinking it'd be quicker to refresh that page rather than the store's main page. Maybe it was quicker, but it certainly didn't yield any results :hilarious:

Thank you for this post. It's greatly appreciated and is the only gripe I had with the whole thing.

Can live with missing out but couldn't understand why the info was in the OP if as Andy has since said, Xin has no say at all on what the GB live times are for HDN.

This explains everything and it was a simple mistake. Nobody had said that prior to your message so again, greatly appreciated.

Congrats to all who got them and hope they look as good in hand as they do in the videos.

I have the original Zeta release of this and I have the 4K version of the movie. Got the 4K at Best Buy on sale for a great price so I'm not too disappointed. I still would have purchased this but I was late to the show and there were no more tickets!
