To all my HiDefNinja friends on the east coast of the USA, stay safe and dry this weekend!

Sounds like a number of folks in the Southeast are preparing for quite the storm wallop.

Hey Andy, are you in the path of this monster?

At this moment we are Steve. Current reports when it gets here have the winds at 40-60 mph. Nothing like a category one or two, but...

Got a bunch of prep work to do tomorrow, just in case.

We never get storms up here like this, I think the last was 1991...

I'm actually on vacation in Jersey right now. I'm at a wedding on the Jersey shore as we speak. It already looks like something is brewing. we were supposed to fly out on Sunday but we changed our flight to tomorrow night. hopefully we can still make it out of here and I can get back to Chicago in one piece.

All I know is I'm gonna have a good time at this wedding tonight in case we get taken out by this hurricane! :)

Hi Bluray-our particular county may not get slammed as hard as others-but my partner's parents have a little house at the shore, and I have friends throughout NJ that will get significant flooding and storms. We are hoping it's not as bad as they say, we'll see. I was at the beach earlier today...a few hours later emergency evacuations started of areas of Jersey shore. Airports expect delays, depending on where you are, and train/public transport in certain areas is stopping at 6 pm tomorrow. One of the biggest storms to hit since 1944. We've prepared as best as we can, with animals, etc to make sure we can help friends, etc if necessary. Mother nature is flexing her muscles for sure, but we'll be ok, one way or the other. Thanks for all of your well wishes & stay safe everyone! Worse case we'll leave the house in a boat (work colleague left her top floor window in a canoe a few years ago, crazy)...

Rob, your best bet is to ask if anyone at the wedding lives in West NJ and drive there. You may not be able to do much to get out of NJ tomorrow. Otherwise, follow the evac plan, and stay indoors/hope for the best.

Stay safe everyone! I was around for Hurricanes in Houston a few years ago ... which was mad panic since Katrina was right before that one so it had everyone going nuts

I called National to see how much it would be to drive all the way to Chicago and drop the car off, and they told me an extra $300. We decided that wasn't horrible, so we're going to drive home in a few hours. I called again this morning and the gentleman told me that all fees would be waived, because of the bad weather. There's about 10 of us about to leave for Chicago, so hopefully we don't hit any bad weather on the way home. Good luck to everyone still on the East Coast. My thought will be with you all. Stay safe, and don't take any chances!

I guess I should stop in the supermarket to buy a few things. I'm dreading it though.

All my town felt the same way this morning.

Strange fact, my grocery store was sold out of tall boy PBR and Coors Light cubes.

Plenty of my favorite beers though... :naughty:

Drive safe RJ!

Stay safe Ninja's. I lived in Florida most of my life and have been through a lot of nasty storm. I lived about 15 miles from where the eye of Andrew hit so that one was pretty scary. Keep everyone posted and be safe.
