Just read the comments

There are 900+ posts already in this thread..I don't have the time to read them all, I do spend a lot of time here but not that much!!

I was meaning for Zavvi TBH and not for us so they can look at a closed statistic rather than hundreds of comments about how we feel ;)

I will buy the Zavvi version so as not to miss out on the release of an IM3 steelie, but you can bet your rear that when USA or CAN announces a steel, I will be all over that. Although, from the way things are shaping up, they may get the same artwork, with no title. Maybe they can call theirs exclusive too :p

LOVE the artwork, but you'd think by now Zavvi would realise that people would like the option of a 2D/3D amery as well as a 2D or 3D steel

Cant quite say they dropped the ball with TLM as apparently it looks like only Amazon.com are getting the 3D version, but we know the UK will get a 3D IM3, so why they couldnt bundle the discs in the steel is beyond me - I'd actually be fine to pay the current price if it meant I wouldnt need to double-dip

****in Disney's call on that one I bet

I find those BD+DVD+DC pointless. I see no reason to have anything other than the blu-ray disc with the movie, unless the DVD contains some extra material (what would make me think they should put that material in a second blu-ray disc).

if they are going to charge a premium price, they should include 3d disc and bonus disc, play.com did with prometheus for the same price £23.99

Don't want to start the big discussion about this, but those combo are mostly used for:
Blu-ray: main TV
DVD: car or portable dvd player
DC: computer or tablet

Exactly. I for one don't have a Blu-ray player in every room (just the one in fact) whereas I have a DVD player in other rooms and on my laptop. Only one of my friends has a Blu-ray player at all.

Disney did a questionaire in the UK some time ago regarding whether or not we wanted the DVD included for their 'classics' range. Unfortunately more people said no than yes (understandable as at that point all the titles they were releasing had been on DVD several times already).

At that point, they dropped the DVDs from all of their Blu-ray releases but forgot to drop the prices to go with it (funny that). They also leave features off of their 1-disc releases, drop the second disc entirely, or flat out don't release their movies on Blu-ray at all (Whinnie the Pooh, The Rescuers Down Under). In the case of Tarzan they release faulty transfers, which still haven't been fully corrected (better, yes) or cut versions of Avengers Assemble without the commentary.

if the artwork is the same worldwide i will pass on this and buy the asian ones as usual :)

Be careful if you buy the asian one, it'll probably have Wang Xueqi on the front and Fan Bingbing on the back. Maybe a picture of Iron Man on the inside... behind an advert for Gu Li Duo milk.

I'd like this more if the space around the arc reactor was in the style of the Mark 43. Like another member said, it'd be cool if we got new steelbooks of 1 and 2 with their respective chest designs. I think it'd be cool too if we got similar releases for the new Cap and Thor steels. No logo and using a symbol for the cover. Cap's shield would be an obvious one. Maybe something Mjolnir based for Thor. Then hopefully we'll get a portrait version of Hulk in a similar style.

I agree in part..but as others have said some of us use the DVD in the rooms with no Bluray player or laptop, or loan the DVD to family who dont have a Bluray player, but my main gripe with the lack of DVD/digital copies in UK editions compared to the US version is in the pricing, a Bluray/DVD/Digital copy release seems like good value (weather you use the DVD/DC or not) to then not include the DVD and DC but not reduce the price at all is a bit of a slap in the face for consumers, or are we to assume the DVD/DC were free?

Not wanting to get sidetracked though, If this is a single disk steelbook, even for a new release it should be £15 maximum. I was critical of the pricing of Play's Prometheus but look at the content, its well worth the price. As for the artwork, its growing on me....Id like the title on the front, but seen as this is the first of Phase 2, is there the possibility this is the first of a phase 2 set of steels all with simple artwork? it could end up as a very nice set...

Speaking of, I'd really like to see Zavvi re-release that Prometheus steel without the 3D disc. As lovely as that steel looked I couldn't justify that one since I don't have a 3D tv or player!

They most definitely are not pointless. Blu ray for my living room theatre, DVD so the kids can watch upstairs with their mates if they wish and Digital Copy for when we are all out and about, on a plane for instance. I love triple plays and UV even more as we all travel a lot.

Pretty much how I roll too. I don't have a blu-ray player connected to every TV and computer, but I have DVD playback available with each one. So the extra copy on DVD is perfect to use in other rooms.
