You'd think that with such a high profile release they would actually make the effort to ship earlier than usual in order to guarantee a 9th September release across the board...

Exclusive SteelBooks aside, what other incentive is there to buy from an online retailer when they can't deliver on-time? What makes this even worse is the fact that legitimate digital versions have been making the rounds for the last two weeks, so those who purchased a physical copy are already at a disadvantage to those who paid for a digital release!

When I pre-order an item months in advance, the least I expect is that it's delivered on or before the release date!

Ha! My Calendar on my iPad just dinged to let me know today is Iron Man 3 release day.

At least all you in the UK only have to wait til Friday probably.

I have to wait until the 26th, transatlantic flight after hopefully surviving the horrors of the Zavvi slasher... hopefully.

Why are Zavvi telling us it will be released on 09/09 if they can't fulfill that date?

It's the 'release date' not the 'guaranteed delivery date'

Is it really a big deal if this arrives by mid week instead of today? No. I'm not sure why most members give retailers a hard time. If it arrives within a week either side of the release date and is mint, what is the problem?

Common sense suggests that Zavvi didn't delay the dispatch of this on purpose just so that they could be ridiculed by Steelbook collectors. As for incentives, well there's cheaper prices, convenience etc.

When you pre-order an item online, you expect it on or in some cases before the release date. This is usually the case with pre-orders.

Now if Zavvi don't do this, then that's fine. I won't pre-order from them again. No skin off my nose. They are the steelbook exclusive company in the UK for less than a year and already going down the gutter.

But you will though  as will everyone else complaining about them.

I guess everyone had cleared their diaries to watch this tonight then only?

I don't know about clearing my diary, but my calendar/schedule/itinerary, yes. I did.

And I was going to write about it later in my diary.

It's funny how nobody moans when a pre order item arrives a few before release date but kick off big time when it's a day late! Swings and roundabouts people!

I'm not usually annoyed by missing a release date as I know the postal service isn't the best of things in the world. What does annoy me is when a retailer gives it absolutely no chance of arriving on release date by posting it late. As it happens, Zavvi is the only place I can get this and so I'm not making a huge fuss, but if it was a game or standard amaray I'd be extremely annoyed as I could just go and buy it in store.

Preordering is getting a copy reserved for you for release. I see no point in preordering and receiving it 3 days after release.

Might aswell buy it on the day from a store. But as this is a zavvi exclusive its not possible therefore they should have posted it out in adequate time for release. Friday is pushing it for a mainland company let alone jersey....
