Looking at the back j-card, yes, it is region free.
Just above and slightly to the left of the Paramount and Marvel logos you'll see the 3 hexagons we all so desire.

Got mine today and gotta say, I'm truly satisfied!
Would have prefered a different atwork that would have matched other IM release, but in the end, it's still an ok looking release.

No they sometimes comes separately. Zavvi dispatches orders separately so you may receive items on different days. It's really up to Royal Mail though. I don't know why they don't dispatch items together, saves them packaging material & costs (like Amazon do).

This will be my first Iron Man steelbook as well. I haven't seen the movie yet and I'm excited to view it for the first time in my living room courtesy of a blu ray steelbook! It shipped from Zavvi a week ago so hopefully ill have it any day now since I'm in the US. I've heard mixed reviews on the movie so I can't wait to finally see it for myself.

Received mine today. Appears mint through the wrap. Not sure how I feel about this one. It's nicely embossed, but I don't like the title-less front cover. I wish they had given it a proper gloss finish to liven up the awesome color palette, and I wish they swapped the front with the back. Also, I don't have the first two in steel. I have the slips. And the red slip for USA looks killer. So I may not keep this one for my collection. Can't decide yet.

*sigh* i guess i'll never understand how our postal system works. not sure how someone on the West Coast can get their steelbook before someone in the South Eastern US, when i'm pretty sure that they were shipped on the same day, using the same shipping speed.

well i'm about an hour north of Birmingham (which has a pretty large airport also, not sure if it's int'l) or 2 1/2 hours west of Atlanta. i had to report both of my steelbook orders from Amazon.co.uk as missing last night because they're both several days past due delivery. my Iron Man 3 shipped out last Friday and said the same that it was due by the 26th.

I saw the 3D slip cover in Tesco the other day and it looked really nice, embossing and reflective in lighting too. I kinda regret I did not go for that instead. The Monsters University 3D looks to have the same type of slip cover so I'm glad I'm getting that over the 2D steelbook, and for only £18.50 too

Release was last Monday and got it Thursday. That's really good IMO.

actually this time around i got surprised how fast the shipping was, i got it today, but honestly i wasn't expecting it today, but i did and in great conditions, very happy with it! i dont know what all the fuss is about, i think it is a really cool steelbook!
