Thanks Hilal! But I think I may have dug too deep! EEK!

$360 for IM for open one is about normal, $300 - $400, it depends on the condition of the steel and what the imperfections are. You seen the steel, you examined, only you can decide if it was a decent price!

It was...(ahem)...I who purchased the $360 IM. I was outbidded on the $540 sealed IM - embarrassingly and irritatingly so since I was prepared to pay much more than that for a sealed/mint copy. And...yes, I have 0 feedback on eBay as I have never purposefully visited eBay until I picked up this insane steelbook collecting habit a few months ago. Being OCD, I would rather have the $540 one than the $360....but such is life. Now that I have the IM FS, it is time for me to move on to other steels...:D

I'm really kicking myself over that one that was won for $540, and I didn't bid. Someone got a hell of a deal there. I had my fingers hovering over the "place bid" button, with $750 as my max bid. Needless to say, I woulda won that one. But owning 2 sealed already........I just couldn't pull the trigger.

You own 2 sealed already but you want to bid for another one? :hilarious:

How do you know that the winning bidder didnt enter $1000.00 as his highest bid.

It seems kinda funny, but its a matter of perspective really. You can think of it as loosing $540 for a steelbook, but you can also think of it as gaining $250 instantaneously, because the true value of this steel is way more then $540. The second way is the way I looked at it. The winning bidder instantly made $250, just like that. At that time, people were scared that the Play.com version would be identical, and there was a lot of FS IM's for sale, prices were artificially low. Look what happened when it was revealed that the Play.com version was not identical. These FS IM's stopped being flooded into ebay, and the last one sold for $720. I know what your gonna say next, you think that in time, all steels will be worthless and decrease in value. Again, I have a totallt different perspective. I see what is, I don't speculated what will be, thats not for me or you to decide. If your one of rhose waiting for the prices of steels to go down, I ask how do you know it will go down? Also, are you waiting for the value of Superman #1 or Batman #1 to go down too?

You will never know if you would had won this at $750 because like Deuce said you don't know what the previous bidder bidded upto?

You think I am gonna say in time steels be worthless? You just said that yourself. If steels are gonna lose value is a different matter and debate.

My questions is - why do you want a third IM sealed when you already have two? The reason I laughed is because you already have two but you want a third sealed and IMO I sense 'greed'.

I already own IM FS sealed so I don't need to wait for the price to go down lol

Fair enough on the $750. As for why I would want a 3rd, you should re read my post. And no such thing as greed. If you can afford, you can afford it, if you can't, you can't. Nobody can dictate to anyone what to buy.

I did read your post, but I lost interest half way so I asked you again (lol).

I think you may have read the second half first for some odd reason. Because the reason why I would wanna 3rd is stated in the 1st half.

Because you assumed that the previous bidder at $540 was the highest bid and you wanted to bid at $750 to possibly buy back the selling cost of an IM not knowing that the bidder may had a reserve at $1000? :hilarious:

So here's my question again, why do you want to buy a third IM (at $750)?

Your a funny guy with you icons lol. But a bit of reading comprehension is in order. Like I said read the first half. Figure it out you're a smart guy.

You had your fingers hovering over $750. So if the previous bidder had a reserve of $749 you would had paid the on going rate of an IM! Congratulations, you could had inflated the sale of an IM :) and have a third to display with your on going list of rare steelz.

I did read the first half, I just quoted above, the second half was you explaining how you could had made a profit because you 'assumed' you would had won this at $750? The second half explains your thinking by making $250 profit by bidding more than the recent sold IM's :)

Because of gaining $250 ? EEK!

Bingo, we have ourselves a winner! See that wasn't too hard to figure out.

I think our definition of "halfs" maybe a little different lol. I stated the reason on the 2nd line of my post. There is roughly 12 lines, therefore the second line technically falls in the 1st half, lines 1-6 = 1st half, line 7-12 second half. Yes? No?

I know what you meant so you can stop your attempt smart humour :) I am elaborating on your post where you said you were tempted to buy the IM and bid at $750?

That links on to your second post. The reason that is important is because you assumed that you would win at $750 is that correct? The point I am making if the previous bidder had a reserve of $749 you would paid for more expensive IM than the previous one sold at $720? Would that be correct?

And no, the winning bidder did not gain '$250' because there hasn't been a sealed mint IM that was sold for that price since that auction for over $700.

And it also appears stevo we already had a previous debate on the thread of the top valuable steelbooks. The link below which you have not responded since you made it very clear that IM is the most valuable and stated 2.0 was sold for $400? The last T2 2.0 was sold for over 500 euros.

I think you need to do a bit more research. The last sealed IM with a tiny ding was sold just over $400. That would be the top going rate for a open/mint one. And the IM you were referring to on the link that was sold for over $1000 last year had imperfections on the IM. You can clearly see the difference between $1000 and $400 on an IM with both imperfections. Stevo welcome to the year 2012. I think you need to focus on the current date my friend.

In regards to you constantly bring up the $750, I believed I already addressed with "fair enough", so why keep bringing it up? As for T2 Black selling for 500 Euros, the reason I didn't know is because it was on ebay.uk, which is specifically UK, while ebay.com is global. Whoever won that one was not doing his homework. The one on ebay.com went for $400, roughly half of what the UK guy paid. If you think that 500 Euros ($800) is fair value for this T2 Black, go ahead and buy it for that price. Theres one on ebay right now from socrates comics.

Well do you any links for the $400 one? I am interested to see just like you asked me for links?

500 euros = $800? 500 euros = $628.7.

I assume in US dollars?
