Shhhhh don't tell anyone but I think I might just have gotten one and for cheap!!! Got shipped so Ill patiently await it!

I got it so cheap either there is a box thats going to arrive with a steelbook inside it or I got conned, lol!

oh man, I was admiring my opened Iron Man FS (which I got for a measly $170.00 including shipping!)...but when i saw the price of the recent ebay sale for $1175.00 (!!!) I dropped my copy (twice!)....hehehe! ok, just kidding! but that is a wicked price! EEK!
 
Why has there not been a re-release like with the FS I Am Legend? Did that one sell out more quickly at the time or something?
Do you guys think they just wait for a re-release when the buzz is higher again (because of the theatrical release of Avengers or Iron Man 3 even further in the future)? I just don't get it, the rest of the Sucker Punch Comic Con Steels was released as soon as prices reached $150... :p
 
Damn! Those prices are crazy!
I was trying to get one of these a while back (about 4 - 5 months).
The auctions were going for €100+ which is already too much in my opinion.
And this I will never forgive myself, one auction which I couldn't be at the end, so when I came home and looked at the final bid, it was €39 (open + mint)...

Different studios.

Paramount (Iron Man) has never re-released a title in North America and frankly, barely wants to release items in steelbook here anyway.

Warner (I Am Legend) is obviously not against re-releasing a title, which we've seen it most prominently in Germany.

And Sucker Punch is a different case. Give it time, with a true print run that low, and if people still love the thing, I could see it exceed $300, easy. They probably sold less than 100 at comic-con.

Ofcourse, thanks for clearifying that. So that could mean that as long as Iron Man and Blu-ray remain popular, there's virtually no limit for this Steel.EEK! Until ofcourse every collector which is keen on keeping his collection complete, has managed to obtain one for a crazy price and never wants to part from it again :hilarious:

Very true. The more people that become interested in the hobby, and the more people that convert over to blu-ray, the more potential for the first steelbooks to be sought after even more than they are now.

Even if a reprint happened, as long as it was different in artwork from the original release, I don't think you'd see the value fall of the original.

I got my copy of Iron Man when it first came out for something like $50. However, I might think about the title differently if I purchased it for $450 or something like that. ;)

Its in better condition then even described! Its pretty much mint minus the 1/8" faint scratch on the back. For $75 bucks Im not going to complain about that. The guy hadn't even taken the back slip cover off even though its open!!!

I still can't believe I got this for $75. I also got a copy of Inglourious Basterds 1st release for $70 this week.... so its been a great week for deals on SB's that I have been chasing for a LONG time.

I will post a pic later or something because Im so excited to get this thing, lol.

DANG! Wanted MM for 50 Euro is a steal. Of my really rare steel books I have been chasing the only two left are Wanted MM and Zombieland... Both german steel's!

But yah I scored on this steel so Thanks.
