Folks, please keep the thread on topic. Once again, pictures, even if not your own, depicting stacks of a sought after Steelbook get people irritated. We're not trying to create drama and animosity in this community, so please don't egg this on. Thanks!

Really? :dunno::ugh:

Seems a bit over the top if you ask me if people really get so upset/irritated over some pics that they have to be removed.

Simon, it has always been part of our community guidelines to avoid unnecessary insults and harassment of members (which we've seen happen) when someone posts 100 copies of Sucker Punch, Iron Man, etc to brag, etc. Out of the 1000's of posts made here, very few ever are deleted. Unlike other forums there is involvement and moderation here to keep the threads informative and fun-based on previous situations which have escalated, including into offline bodily threats, prevention is better than reaction sometimes....

Very true DB, It's just a shame some people take things too far as it shouldn't be like that. By 'Over the top' I meant the people that are irritated, just seems very silly.

It's not Pink EEK!

It is, but if an image of steelbooks would cause a member here to beat another, it has to be done. :(

Play's IM really stands out as eye candy next to the dated FS one. Shocking how bad that now looks and shows up what we once all thought was good. Only the luddites disagree.

I respectfully disagree, I have owned both and I think both have some great aspects. FS has a much richer red and better inside artwork while play has no blue banner and in my opinion better front artwork. :movie:

Marina, this picture, as opposed to the other you posted;) is no cause for alarm, lol. Nice Iron Man collection!

They belong to an amazing collector and person here and show the "Ironman" evolution, so far!

DB, I think you were around when the original FS Ironman released and someone thought they ordered 10 copies from Futureshop and added an extra zero and panicked when 100 showed up. He was begging people to take them off his hands. Many went up on eBay for $40 and four months later when they started to dry up, I thought people were crazy to pay $60. :D

Them damn crazy luddites must have a lot of money to throw around because you can buy a stack of the Play IMs for what one FS IM sells for. :hilarious:

I was waiting for the V.2 of Blu-ray back then because the players couldn't keep up with the newer discs. The hot three back then were the Futureshop Ironman, Futureshop I Am Legend, and the original German Rambo Uncut (but it had to have the tattoo to be the hot one! :) )

My son liked the original German Ironman better than the Futureshop version, so I got him one of those, too. It liked to kill me to pay $60 for it new/sealed. :hilarious:

I remember Andy back then, he's still cool as ever! I think he was a G-1 freak! :p

Private seller unfortunately, I've not had the best experience returning damaged steelbooks before.

I've had something like this happen to me once or twice on eBay (one actually was a "Like new" steelbook, which turned out to be far from it).

If I don't know the seller from past purchase history, I'll open a case right away at eBay, describe the situation and request return for full refund. I've also used signed-for service to return the item, if I feel like I can't completely trust the seller. Bigger loss for me, but I'd rather make sure that I can get my money back for the item itself. Never failed so far.

A major disappointment to receive Iron Man in that condition, really sorry to see that picture! :(

Based on a few tens of steelbook purchases on eBay, most of the sellers (including private) seem to be doing a great job of packaging steelbooks. But of course you never know for sure what you'll get when dealing with a seller you haven't purchased from before and no feedback for steelbook sales...

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I must disagree. I own the Play IM and I do really like it but based on the pics and videoes I've seen of FS Iron Man I think FS looks much better and is made of better quality steel from what I hear.
Very glad to own Play's Iron Man and won't ever own FS IM.

What I always do, is request sellers to ship the steel in a sturdy box and wrap the steel in sufficient bubble wrap or package it so that it will not be damaged in transit. Sometimes, the seller requests an additional fee and I never hesitate to pay for the service I need. I've had very good luck so far.
