I don't want to be another negative user, but i did note how cold the IM2 thread is compared to this. I was under the impression that the excitement for Play's IM2 wasn't even half of their IM1.

2012 and play still writes their orders down on paper lol , they dont have automated stock control, like any other company of their size come on the system doesnt allow you to order something if its not avaiable

I'm not quite sure man, but you keep questioning and spreading negativity. Be sure to link me to your retailer site that you own that is much better so we can all criticize it.

Just be happy you got a great steelbook. I dont make stuff up, I state facts.

No it doesn't sound funny at all. It's a software based system and they simply don't have it set up to take inventory count, only for making orders. It's as simple as that.

Haha, I'm not. Just a few other sites.

Nothing would sound funny if you knew what I knew .. which is why I try to convey that message to all members here in ways that I'm allowed from my contacts. I'm basically a steelbook spokesman for studios, retailers, etailers, marketing, manufacturers, etc. I try to make my comments very clear, if they sound official ... thats because its official news. If it is something where it sounds opinionated or "I think this..." thats me making an assumption based on knowledge I know not necessarily facts. I'm very clear with my wording otherwise I get lots of new guys questioning me and it can often be very redundant.

Insider news on steelbooks will come from this site, just get used to it.

i work for a big UK company who sell online, and the stock levels are not LIVE. so Wreck would be correct in saying it was removed before they were all sold out, in case they oversold.

makes business sense on play.com's part.

There is also other unknown variables ... what happens when people cancel, or if Play gets their shipment and have to discard X # cause they received some damaged ones... bet they wouldn't want to sell 4,000 and then turn around and only have 3950 to issue and have to cancel 50 people ... So they are looking out for everyone and playing it safe and as their message stated people's pre-orders would assure them a copy.

A checkout system is a bit more complicated then most could think when adding in unknown variables.

I saw many asking if it'll have 2-discs in it or not.

Wreck Ironman seems to be getting all the attention like its being embossed etc what about the others in the wave shooter and saving private ryan any news you can tell us about them if they are embossed or not? i take it they will all have a matt finish?

Wow, what a difference a week makes eh... all the excitement of last Friday and now what seems like a lifetime waiting for August! :movie:

This cant be far away from being Play.com's fastest selling title, not just steelbook but anything, they have had Steels sell out a month or so before release such as the X-Men first class steelbook, but I dont think anything has sold out a week after going up for pre order..

Im sure this will make a very brief return to Play around release date as with most Play exclusives that sell out prior to release as some orders will be declined due to card issues/lack of funds and Play will have a small batch to cover any returns that will eventually go onsale Im sure so Id guess there will still be a few hundred copies 'unsold' The X-Men first class and Rise of the planet of the apes ones popped up a few times in the day or so following release, so be patient....If my car fails its MOT at the beginning of August and I have a big repair bill there might be at least 2 back i stock in Plays warehouse LOL (It wont happen... )

Cheers Wreck and everyone else who posted info which filtered down thru the various forums so we all got to know about this release nice and early and all had chance to either order ourselves or arrange a trade/group buy, much appreciated!

there is a good chance of this movie being released before august 13th.

incredible hulk, american werewolf etc were due out on june 4th, then brought forward to may 28th.

fingers crossed iron man is the same.

I'm just happy this comes on my birthday the 13th of August and I got my order in of course I won't get it on my birthday here in the sates but it's all good as long it gets here safe.
