Thanks Hub but am I right that the Steels are going to be shipped to Canada first and then distributed. Is it possible for blufans member to directly ship to the hub? This way we can save a lot of money.

BluFans sells directly to bluraysteel (HDN is just helping organize given the number of members interested), so someone would need to know the admin of BluFans and then get permission to get that same quantity sent directly...

And I believe that opportunity for this group buy has already passed.

Without going into all the details, BluFans is allowed to do a smaller run of steelbooks that normally allowed because steelbook is interested in getting more market share in China.

Add a slipcover and some potential of a "numbered edition" (Elite Squad got a numbered card), and you have a collectible release of a steelbook that is different than many others released with the same artwork.

A few of the reasons why collectors find these more desirable.

Given the interest in this exclusive it still bodes well that Kevin / HDN have secured us 200 copies and the number of posts in this thread still remains below that number, with multiple posts from many too

Ahhh. I've seen these exclusives on Ebay, but had no idea what the "Blufans" was about; this makes sense now. Might have to try to get on this; I love an exclusive.

But this seems to be quite limited, are these made 200 in total or just 200 for hi-def ninja members?

200 for HDN members, not sure how many on top of that. I would venture a guess of 500-1000.

Print run for this is supposed to be somewhere from 800 - 1000.

And you'll note that if HDN staff is made aware of excessive demand of any group buy that according to group buy rules, we reserve the right to limit 1 copy per member. But if a member comes along 3 weeks after the group buy is opened and wants a copy...well, there's only so much we can do there.

Part of the problem is that China has a very, very limited catalogue of movies one could pick from.

Some are deemed to be too problematic to be sold in China.
