They will ONLY DELIVER TO UK ADDRESSES AT THE MOMENT.

I imagine the only way they can afford to release it at all is to share the production costs with everyone else who's using the same artwork. Scanavo already have the production line set up to emboss and print these, so it would be relatively cheap for them to run off an extra one or two thousand. To commission, design, and manufacture a steelbook with unique artwork would be much more expensive.

Going by your comments, this should be a lot cheaper. This edition doesn't have unique artwork. If it had unique artwork, then I can understand the price hike. All we're paying over the odds for is a 'J card' in English. So nothing special really.

I understand people complaining about the cost, but to us aussies, this is the normal price for a steelbook
Go to Asia e.g. Singapore - then you will know what expensive is !

@ausnew - I'm in Aus too, and this is expensive for me. I usually import most of my movies from the UK and this is double the regular price for what is to be frank, really **** artwork. Thanks Mr Cruise.

I paid the £24 asking price for Prometheus because, in the end although I wasn't a huge fan of the film it was a gorgeous steel.. This film I like, but £28 and a dull as heck steel means I'll be waiting for a price drop on the French one..

It also had a 2D and a 3D disc inside it. Jack Reacher was a good film, but I have to draw the line on paying these kind of prices for Steelbooks

1) No, this a UK only run
2) Yes, he did pay Paramount for these.

Remember folks, as some of you have already mentioned in this thread, Prometheus from Fox when sold by play.com was very high in terms of cost.

Now, take a look at all these great steelbooks we've gotten from Fox since play took the risk with the high price of Prometheus.

Welcome truedonk I believe ordering from play marketplace means you're covered by play.com. Not sure where you are, but according to this thread, this one is only shipping to UK

Paramount seldom disappoints but the pricing is way too high and comparing this with Prometheus doesn't make sense at all. (1 BD Vs 3D / 2D / Bonus BD) and a better movie too.
