Old infos:
Note About Ordering From Entertainment Store said:
They will ONLY DELIVER TO UK ADDRESSES AT THE MOMENT.

A way around this: (confirmed by retailer thats its ok)

1) Order directly but add a UK HDN members address for delivery
OR
2) Ask a UK HDN member to kindly order it for you

So please be careful when ordering because if you've put an address outside the UK your order will be most likely be cancelled by Play.

Now those of you who dissed us for standing by ES will maybe understand why we did so. You will not find better Customer Service anywhere, not even from Amazon. I will buy every exclusive from them, even if I don't like the movie or the steel, because we need to make sure ES prosper and grow to the point where they can compete with Zavvi/Amazon on the steel front, they deserve it for their fantastic work on sorting what could've been a disaster out so promptly.

Kudos, Luke, kudos.

Now the question is - which to offload?

If everything Luke says comes to pass, I'm going to end up with:

1. Open defective
2. Sealed defective
3. Sealed mint

I'm leaning towards opening and keeping the mint one and then trading both of the defective copies.

How can you end up with three copies? Isn't that impossible?

You have your original defective copy, you then ask for a replacement from ES (and they said they would send it out on Monday in my case) but you haven't yet sent back the original.

Then you get the new one in May

Oh so the replacement has been sent for the original copy and then the reprint version will be sent? Wow. I don't think this warranted a reprint, but at least we get to keep the originals too. They aren't bad at all really, so i'll sell mine on.

Unfortunately mine were bad, one had a badly dented spine and the other a deep scratch on the front unrelated to the manufacturing fault.

Sods law being what it is - they also got posted back to ES yesterday

I asked for a replacement over the weekend, before knowing it was a mass manufacturing error. Luke said one was sent out on Monday, and I said that once it arrived, I would send back the original. So that's one in hand and another in the post on the way.

After today's news I asked what to do with the original opened defective copy and he just said to keep them all and don't worry, just wait for the mint replacement in May.

Received mine today, I now see what all the hoopla is about........although only just! Had to squint.....;)

Also received the email from Luke......excellent service all round, well done mate!

Wrong comparison.

The print run is very limited that made things a bit easier.

Remember the Hugo watch issue in the Tinset which was limited to 1000 units? Paramount sent out free replacement straps for the watch and Amazon refunded 15 EUR.

Try doing this on a 4K or 8K run. It will backfire and you may even go bust. Also it is a small company with relatively less number of orders and customer queries which means you get a quick response and action.

I am not against ES but at the same time I don't want to compare them with big players who are in a different league.

You seem to have a lot to say against ES and this release, to say you don't have anything against them.

It's not the wrong comparison at all, Amazon are also worth millions if not billions of dollars, so they can afford to do that without it even hitting their cashflow, so comparing them base on print run size is the wrong comparison IMO.

Comparing customer service v customer service though, ES have so far been just as good, if not even better than Amazon. I'll now end up with a minimum of 4 steelbooks, possibly 6 if the replacements were sent out on Monday, yet I have only paid for 2, I could probably sell the other 2/4 and easily get £30+ for them, meaning I will be up on this release yet still have my 2 original copies. Would Amazon ever do that? I very much doubt it, as much as I do like them nobody else will offer such a fantastic solution to a problem like this.

Well I'm glad some people are happy because I'm certainly not.

I still haven't received my original copy which now has to be presumed lost, no replacement is being sent for this and I've been charged last week for something I'm now not going to receive for another month. Poor.

Yep, that is poor and also quite surprising. I hope ES offer you a 2nd free copy to make up for the mismanagement of your order.

Many times, amazon asks us to keep the damaged copy and offer free replacements but it could depend on the mood of the customer service who is handling the request.

When things are small it is easier to manage. I agree that a fantasic solution has been offered but I am saying it was possible due to the extremely low print run. If the print run was 4k or 8k and if they did something similar the I am sure they will be out of business.

I am sure some of the first run copies are going to end up on eBay now that free replacement units have been arranged. Some who talked against scalping will now be tempted to engage in scalping by selling the free copy.
