Old infos:
Note About Ordering From Entertainment Store said:
They will ONLY DELIVER TO UK ADDRESSES AT THE MOMENT.

A way around this: (confirmed by retailer thats its ok)

1) Order directly but add a UK HDN members address for delivery
OR
2) Ask a UK HDN member to kindly order it for you

So please be careful when ordering because if you've put an address outside the UK your order will be most likely be cancelled by Play.

My replacement arrived with a dirty great thumb print actually printed onto the steel itself!

Now unless that's Tom Cruise's own thumb there - and I'm betting it ain't! - this is another copy that will have to go back for a refund.

Guess I'll have to stick with my copy of the scratched original...sigh. What a foul up this one has been.

Get your CSI kit out we will demand the fingerprints of the numbskulls who did this... we will find the bugger

Just received my copy from Amazon France and it also has the 'line defect' down the right hand side so it must be a widespread manufacturing defect.

Same here. Will return it back to Amazon. No need for a replacement as I am tired of going through this return/exchange process.

I really hope the blufans exclusive is defect free.

Does Amazon France work the same as the UK? Meaning do they just send out a replacement straight away and then you just send the defect back within a month?

Received my replacement Jack Reacher SteelBook yesterday! Sealed, with discs (no eMail to tell me it was on its way though)

I'm wondering what you guys are doing with the first one that is scratched? I'm guessing the majority of you will still have sealed ones in your possession, so do you:

A) Sell the scratched one on eBay?

B)
Keep the scratched one, and sell the perfect one on eBay for a higher price?

C)
Open the scratched one to watch, while keeping the mint one pristine (or vice versa)?

D)
Keep both sealed, and consider the scratched one a rare curio or variant?

I'm personally leaning towards A or D, but haven't decided which yet. Is it possible that the damaged one may become a sought after rarity in the future? After all, this release is still pretty damn limited, mint or otherwise! Is it possible that the damaged one may even become more sought after than the perfect reprint?

I'd be curious to know what other collectors think in these circumstances. Usually a retailer insists that the damaged one be returned before they'll issue a mint replacement, so we very rarely have this issue crop up

I sold my scratched one to my friend for the shipping cost to get my replacement

Going on what people are saying about the Amazon.fr version being scratched as well it may be that a lot of the different countries releases are being sourced from the same faulty print batch, With this in mind it maybe that the ES mint reprint will become the version to own ;)

That's what I was thinking. We'll have to wait and see if the Blufans version has the defect too

Think I will keep both of mine for the time being. Price has dipped as there's a lot for sale at the moment. When there are a few more ES releases people will come back to this and want the whole collection. I haven't started trading yet but when I do I hope this will get me something that has eluded me. I may be wrong, with my luck It may be worth an Oldboy.

Here's a comparsion of the two Jack Reacher releases - the one on the left is the scratched first release, and the one on the right is the replacement:

Jack Reacher x2 (Front).jpg

Jack Reacher x2 (Back).jpg

There doesn't seem to be any significant differences between the two, and the J-card doesn't appear to have any significant markings on to differentiate it from the first print - They're identical!

However, I did notice that the first print run (the scratched one) has an overlapping vertical seam down the back of the shrinkwrap, which the replacement does not!

If buying a sealed copy of this SteelBook release from eBay, this may help you guys tell the two apart easily, rather than asking a seller whether the SteelBook has a hairline scratch. Consider this secondary confirmation

Good info Heche, thanks

I have noticed on my copies (and also in your pics) that the original 'defect' version has a bluer tint to it whereas the replacement copies are a greyer shade. Your pics actually show this quite well so it's another way to differentiate between the two

I did notice a slight colour variation when comparing the two, but couldn't be 100% sure whether there was a difference or whether it was a trick of the light. I realise that my (poor) photography has actually made it more apparent.
