The French TFI release is still THE one to get for all U Tarantino fans out there, it's a beauty :naughty:

I don't think just printing photos on covers as good steelbook designs. Very disappointed with all these cashing on steelbooks just any kind of design will do. Look at nice steelbook designs of previous years such as Futureshop Pirates series and Disney's. A world of difference these days.

Any news on when this one will go live, I love the artwork, this is what I call an exclusive.
I hope Zavvi continue producing more of QT's movies. I do like my Japanese Pulp but I still think it could be better and we need a good UK Basterds and Death Proof and he may not have directed it but we need True Romance as well, after even QT says he prefers the way it was made to his original screenplay.

Listening to QT's audio commentary on True Romance I didn't get the sense at all that he preferred the way Tony Scott had made it. If he mentioned it once, he must have mentioned it 10 times how Scott had restructured the film from how it was written, plus changed the ending which it sounded like they argued about.

I wasn't referring to the commentary, it was in a interview but also I certainly felt that he thought the ending worked a lot better, never got the feeling that they argued about it. Now NBK, QT hates that movie an even got into a fight in a restaurant over it (according to the press).

Yep you are right, Tarantino didn't agree with the way Tony Scott made it and said had he have directed it himself he would have done it differently. The ending would definatly have been changed. Back on topic I already have enough editions of Jackie Brown so will probably give this one a miss.

According to them both they had a meeting about the ending and although my inference was an argument, it may have just been healthy debate. ;)

Yeah it's a big disappointment Tarantino didn't direct True Romance himself, what he describes sounds like a better film than what Tony Scott made. It had the non-linear structure which was so good about all QT's other early films.

But back on topic, I was hoping this steel would go live this weekend, will be ordering this in a heartbeat.
