Can you please press the reset switch on your brain Robopaul.EU customers ordering from EU retailers don't have customs duty on goods over value €150
They only pay vat
It's going to be more expensive for UK customers to order goods from EU
UK customers ordering from EU if value over £135 and they will also pay customs duty
Also the cost of goods increases on imports from January 1st as you no longer have the £15 to avoid vat payment.
EU is not dropping the threshold of €22 to avoid Vat until July 1st 2021
There are more options for EU customers to order from EU business than using UK
Tons have alreadyWill Cinemuseum and Filmarena 'One Clicks' cost more than £135..........?
Yeah I would say so the joker hardbox through the group buy was just over 150 , without shipping billed yet. Will Cinemuseum and Filmarena 'One Clicks' cost more than £135..........?
Eu ordering from UK will have no vat payment if value is €22 or less until July 1stCan you please press the reset switch on your brain Robopaul.
As a UK resident ordering goods from Europe costing less than 135£ it will be cheaper or at the very least same when paying UK VAT rather than a lot of EU countries VAT.
The 15£ exemption is immaterial in the above circumstances.
Filmarena will be through group buy. Will Cinemuseum and Filmarena 'One Clicks' cost more than £135..........?
Marking low value cant be done anymoreFilmarena will be through group buy.
Therefore absolutely no change. Only Karel will have to declare as gift and low value
Will stop buying cinemuseum 1click
I'm not sure it'll be that easy when Karel rocks up to the post office with 100 or more 'Gifts' to the UK!!Only Karel will have to declare as gift and low value
Karel is not third party merchant.Marking low value cant be done anymore
The purpose of the new rules is to avoid vat not been paid on actual cost of goods
This why you will also see a lot of on-line retailers based outside EU/UK charge vat at checkout from next year
As in imports from China/South Korea/USA/Hong Kong etc etc
You will see eBay for example apply vat on orders at checkout
If you are a ebay seller have already registered a VAT ID with eBay
EU to UK and UK to EU and other countries based outside UK/EU shipping to UK/EU
Third party sellers are required to register for vat in destination country if selling goods by themsleves
There is new rules also on how a third party process orders on behalf of a retailer
When third party process orders on behalf of a retailer the retailer is responsible to provide proof of vat been paid
Its also why some USA small retailers and third party sellers have decided for now to no longer ship goods to UK as they don't want to pay the £1000 register vat fee
Karel is a group host selling goods on behalf of Filmarema (The cost of Group Buy goods he payed filmarena included Vat as he is based in EU)Karel is not third party merchant.
He is your "friend" shipping you a "gift"
Therefore he can ABSOLUTELY declare a low value if he wants to
Let's see how many times I can get you to give the same wrong answer to the issue.Karel is a group host selling goods on behalf of Filmarema (The cost of goods he payed filmarena included Vat as vat is included in the price for those based in EU on Filmarema Website)
Previously goods was not marked as gifts as Vat was already paid and was items shipped between EU countries so no customs label was required)
Karel only needed previously to use custums label when shipping goods to an address based outside EU.
UK only leaving EU proper until January 1st 2021 as that is whern it leaves EU Custums Union and EU Single Market
UK was under a transition period until December 31st 2020 and was still under all EU rules including custums rules so was that meant it was still classed as been in EU from January 2020 to December 2020
January 1st 2021 UK no longer has free movment of goods as it not in the EU custums union or EU Single Market anymore (Exception Northern Ireland remain in EU single Market to avoid a custums border between Rep of Ireland and Northern Ireland )
For items from a EU country to UK Vat is required to be paid if shipping from EU to UK and shown to be paid on customs label
EU to UK If Vat not shown to be paid custums label or invoice the parcel courier will look for vat payment when delivering goods and will require copy of purchase invoice
He can't mark value low as that is not allowed under the new rules
There is new rules that apply from 2021 in regards to how third party sellers aka Group Buy host shipping goods that come from a retailer
This also applies to eBay sellers
The retailers are responsible to show Vat has been paid if a third party is shipping goods from EU to UK on behalf of a retailer
Custums label are required for items been shipped from EU to UK and must show correct details.
The whole purpose of the new rules was decided before even UK left EU and was to stop parcels from been marked low to avoid vat
These new rules come into affect from 2021
UK have gone with the same new rules
Both UK and EU was originally to be dropping vat threshold from January 1st but EU extended this to July 1st due to covid-19
UK did not apply that extension
As UK no longer part of the EU customs union from January 1st all goods imported in to UK from from EU vat is required to be paid and shown to be paid on actual cost of goods
Filmarena vat was included in price for Joker including the GB and was a item paid before December 31st so is a purchase done when UK was still in EU customs union
The custums label must show and a invoice must be included to show vat was paid and was paid before december 31st to avoid custums duty
Future purchases from Group Buy's for Filmarena and other retailers releases must show vat has been paid as it's items that comes from them even if a third party ships the items on their behalf
That is part of the new rules for items been shipped from EU to UK and for items been shipped from outside both EU/UK to EU/UK
The whole purpose of the new rules is to not have any imore instances of parcels value been marked low to avoid vat or custuns duty
The retailer is reponsible to appy vat on goods ordered and prove vat has been paid
This why you will see on-line retailers apply vat at chechout in countries based outside EU and UK from next year it's to stop vat not been paid on actual cost of goods
That all changes from July 1st 2021 you can't avoid paying Vat or custums duty on on-line purchases and was reason why new rules was createdLet's see how many times I can get you to give the same wrong answer to the issue.
Group buy items are not subject to VAT rules as a private individual is shipping to you and they can declare whatever the f*** they like on a customs declaration as the original retailer is not selling to you. They are selling to Karel who is paying his local VAT.
eBay will auto apply vat at checkout on purchases upto value of £135/€150How will it work on eBay @paulboland?
Say, if I sell a steelbook to someone in the UK. Is there something I'll have to do on my end or will it be on the buyers end....?
So the buyer pays the Vat?eBay will auto apply vat at checkout on purchases upto value of £135/€150
Details below
VAT import regulations | UK Seller Centre
In 2021, there will be changes to the VAT treatment of imports into the UK and EU as well as certain shipments within the EU.sellercentre.ebay.co.uk
Private eBay sellers should of been given info already
I don't use eBay to sell items I only use to make purchases so I not received that info or I did not notice a email if it was sent
Basically customers when using eBay will see Vat applied at checkout
All sellers will have to provide a gross price and separate VAT rate on their listings, so that eBay can determine the correct amount of VAT to collect from consumers
Buyer pay Vat with eBay processing collection of vat at checkout and passing on the vat to HMRC/Revenue with goods upto value of £135/€150So the buyer pays the Vat?
Or is it taken out of the sellers final selling price? Its not really made clear.
LolThat all changes from July 1st 2021 you can't avoid paying Vat or custums duty on on-line purchases and was reason why new rules was created
The purpose of the new rules is to combat vat fraud
Karels GB prices included Vat when you payed him as it was based on price on FilmArena Website which includes Vat in price as Karel is based in EU
These Group Buy's are on-line purchases
USA members ordering direct from Filmarena VAt was removed from price at checkout but that does not happen with GB has it's karel who is based in EU placing an order
UK was still in EU for those previous FAC purchases and is why no custums label was required as it was items been shipped between EU countries and those GB purchases already included vat paid.
Your previous parcels from karel was under EU rules which had free movment of goods between EU countries as in no customs checks
Karel would have used custums label for members based in countries based outside EU
He now has to do this for UK from January 1st 2021 as that is when UK really leaves EU
There is new rules in regards to a person shipping goods on behalf of a retailer this come into force from July 1st 2021 in the EU
From July 1st 2021 If items are purchased from a retailers in EU and then shipped by someone else to customers in UK Vat must be shown as paid on custums label if has already been paid.
If vat not shown to be paid custums and parcel courier will very likely look for Vat payment and you risk paying Vat twice if Vat was already included in price when you made a purchase.
Under the new rules the retailer or on-line website that processed purchase is responsible to show vat has been paid and it still classed as items purchased from the retailer even if shipped by a GB host.
A post office in Czech republic would notice lot of items been marked as gifts if karel did this and they would very likely know that they are not due to amount of parcels involved
Karel ships a lot of items so actual value of goods will need to be declared on custums label for delivery outside EU asking him to do different he be taking risks.
Your FAC purchases already include Vat as GB but might involve custums duty if value is over £135
Under the new rules It's responibilty of seller or retailer or website that procees on-line purchase to pass that vat payment to HMRC in regards to shipments from EU to UK if that don't happen the customer when getting delivery will be responsible for paying Vat
Filmarena will very likely already have registered vat in UK under the new rules or will do so soon
A private individual shipping goods from EU to UK or UK to EU must also declare value of goods on custums label that is the law
Karel pays Filmarena and orders items on your behalf and then he ships items to you
These are on-line purchases done through a website web forum so are classed as e-commerce purchases under the new EU rules from July 1st 2021
Karel can decide what he does but if he chooses to mark actual value on customs label that's his right to do this if he wants
