Kind of hard to believe that JSA would sell out with a larger print run than THE RAID 1 & 2 (which is still in stock). That has to be wrong.

for JSA it was the first blu-ray release worldwide except of germany, while the raid had dozens (feels like hundreds...) of limited special editions around the world already. that might be a factor in JSA selling out. ;)

I picked up the full slip after seeing the awesome pictures some of you fellow Ninja's posted here and like you have all said, in hand this is just gorgeous and has to be hands down one of the nicest slips I have ever seen. Embossing, textured paper and silk epoxy printing make this a must have! Plus like many of you have said in this thread its awesome to see a fantastic Korean film get the full luxury treatment, be pulled off so beautifully and then manage to sell so well.

With Plain's I Saw the Devil, Kimchi's Snowpiercer and Infernal Affairs and now this it seems like there is a definite market for Korean and Asian cinema getting the full bells & whistles treatment among collectors, or at least I think/hope so. But I do really hope this paves the way for more great films like this getting the special treatment, I always feel like Korean and Asian cinema is a little underrepresented in the collectible blu-ray arena, especially when there is such a rich collection of great films both modern and classic to draw from that I'm sure if given that special treatment from one of these companies would attract a great amount of attention from us collectors. I'd love to see films like The Yellow Sea, A Bittersweet Life, The Man from Nowhere, Brotherhood, Chungking Express, Mad Detective and so many others get the awesome attention that these guys at retailers like Nova, P.A and Kimchi can dish out.

But back to this release, like others have posted here I completely agree and couldn't recommend this release more, its an awesome film and a stunning blu-ray package, kudos to Nova for a great release. Now fingers crossed we see some more great Korean/Asian cinema get a similar deal.

Plain are going slightly adrift with their releases. I haven't bought one for a while as the movies they seem to be picking are boring as hell. I'd love to see A Bittersweet Life. Plain are meant to be doing Oldboy, not sure what is happening with that.

Just out of interest, when did you buy this? I'm wondering if they have fixed the audio issue yet. I'm not going to watch it until I get my fixed disc!

I have always said, PA or even Nova should have an exclusive & dedicated line for Korean films, that would be just awesome!! I love my Korean flicks, have all CJ-Ent/Hommage Collection & many other Blu-Ray LEs but a dedicated Steelbook releases for Korean classics would be amazing.

I too stopped collecting PA and sold my Amaray LE line, only keeping and concentrating on their Steelbook line onwards.

Has anybody gotten their replacement disc yet? I emailed them a while ago and was told I would receive one. My Nightcrawler order arrived the day before and I assumed they'd chuck it in with that, but nothing. I've watched this disc twice now and still can't pick where the audio issue is, and from what I can find online, I'm not alone. Still, I would like a replacement disc if they are offering one.

I was lucky enough to grab one of the last copies I think from their site before they came down, but like you say I have yet to receive any kind of e-mail about the replacement disc. I think they said they would be ready around now, so hopefully within the next week or so we may hear something. But like @Futurhythm said I couldn't pick up exactly where the issue is when I watched this the other night. I'd be interested to know if any other ninja's have picked up the issue whilst watching it?

For me it seems that the Korean audio has minor lipsync problems for most of the film. Because it's not English it's not so obvious as most of us paying more attention to the subtitles.

This is to notify all customers that the Nova production team have identified audio sync issues with the JSA authored Blu-Ray disc. We are extremely sorry for any inconvenience and we have diligently worked on correcting the issue by mastering replacement discs which will be available on a by request only basis.

Am I affected?
You are the best judge and if the minute audio sync issues that happen intermittently are of significant importance to you then Yes you are affected; Else if you are not a native Korean speaker and rely on subtitles then it is hard to notice the problem.

How do I request a replacement disc?
Please send an email to [email protected] with your Order ID and customer account # to request the replacement disc. Please contact by November 20th 2015 to register for the replacement program.

Who will pay for S&H?
If you required, the disc to be shipped as soon as we receive it you will have to cover the shipping charges (calculated) and we shall cover the cost of the replacement disc. Alternatively we can combine shipping with your future order at no additional cost.

Thank you very much
Nova Media

Only having the funds to buy one, I first time watched both this and Whiplash last night. While Whiplash was pretty good (wicked ending!) JSA was the easy winner in the battle for my cash. Went for the Lenti, the book and requested to replacement disc :thumbs:
