happy days.
my E1 has arrived - it had to be E1, due to the previous editions, and i have a 4K set up - and the slip is at least as good as it appeas in photos, if not better.
we all know what we think of the steel.
great shots above from
@CleverLoginName and
@EvilThing among others
, but for those with an interest for more, here's the usual breakdown.

once unwrapped, the package is an interesting mix of stellar slip, poor steel, and standard booklet. here are their
fronts and backs:
so let's get stright on to the slip itself: front and back, plus their embossing.
the front is the real winner, here - whether it's true bossing or just multiple layers of spot varnish, the effect is outstanding.
here's the
slip front:
and here's the
slip back:
more than the usual effort has gone into the
rest of the box, with the the bossing continuing across onto the
heavily bossed spine, a nice touch
:
the
steelbook is as bland, unfinished looking and boring as you thought.
the lenti magnet is very average, but does at least cover up the steel. i may leave this as is or replace with the HMV edition:
the
booklet is the usual big studio release - fair quality repro of movie shots, no words, perfect bound:
and this is the full package of
everything you get. the white dino cards look like they're designed to potentially be cut outs - i doubt i'll look at them again, not much to speak of:
so i have mixed feelings about E1, but these have been blown away by the slip, and the fact that its arrival enables me to do this
:
couple more collection shots:
finally, massive thanks to
@carllenc and
@CollectorEmtee for hosting the GB, and enabling me to get this, and for
their early Xmas present . you guys rock:
if you have any of the other FACs, despite the steel, i think you need this E1.
