Guys....it's not sold out!!! honestly do you lot still fall for this ploy from Zavvi!!!

Guarantee this will be available again....like every other goddamn steelbook from Zavvi!!

I have the 100th anniversary digibook....way better than this!!;);)

Come on @TonyStark64 chill out mate.

Im not Zavvi's biggest fan but i get tired of the same thing on every Zavvi thread. (Not just from you)

Technically it is sold out as they have sold all of their copies until people cancel closer to the release date or people have payment problems. Then it will come back up for pre-order. Just like any other retailer.

More copies dont just magically appear from thin air.

I own the digibook and I wouldn't describe it as 'way better'. It is decent but it has the nasty banner and the front artwork is essentially the same as this.

I believe it is sold out initially of all 2500 and not just 1000. Judging by comments on here this is in big demand especially with that awesome front of raging Kong. No doubt cancellations will occur but this is not going to be in Zavvi's bargain bin any time soon.

The way Zavvi work is, it is sold out of the first 1,000 they've put up for sale so far.

They have at no time said all of the total 2,500 have been up for sale. I believe they have recruited a new marketing guy from Germany called Kuntz.
I heard it was his friend Jack Schitt :D

A good sign, maybe Universal would consider a Steel of the original in the near future? :)

The original 1933 version is a Warner title. There's already a nice Digibook in the States that uses the poster art from the time of the film's release.

I'm surprised that Warner didn't include it in their 'Classic Poster Art' wave of Steelbooks released in the UK in 2013. A great selection of classics such as "Ben-Hur", "Doctor Zhivago", "Gone With the Wind", etc, all using the original poster art from when the films were first released. Hopefully, one day they'll release a second wave which will include "King Kong".

I just hope Warner will continue to steer clear of the trend towards abstract artwork that has marred so many recent Steelbook releases from Fox, Universal and Sony.
