I read on a different site that Sony is going for a second batch produced because such a high demand was not expected.
Sony is only responsible for Disney releases in the US. Overseas their releases are coming from local distributors, like Elevation in the UK.

I also got in on the HMV re-stock but it never got shipped (got charged for it though.), and i've just received 2 emails today, one saying the item was found to be faulty, then another saying it's out of stock with the suppliers and the order is cancelled...just odd.
Did you get yours ?, or did it get cancelled like mine..?
No I haven't got mine, and I also got the email saying it was found to be faulty. I haven't as yet had the order cancelled but I'm sure it's just a matter of time! It's annoying as in the US they're producing more of this steelbook but in the UK they seem to be going for the limited edition/pointless scarcity angle.
For anyone who missed this like me, rarewaves have restocked too.

Is everyone jumping at this because we're so deprived of good looking Steelbooks or is the film actually decent? (I've never seen it)
