im sure they realized most people complained about the lack of "art" on the back of jb and mermaid so they stuck a repetitive image on the back to try to keep folks happy

honestly with all three being the same concept of back artwork its a slap in the face

I like the front on all three of their future disney releases but maybe as a community we can run a poll and possibly get something changed ?

:hilarious:

A design feature which makes these more of a collection like people have been asking for is 'a slap in the face'? I like the idea, they just need to use a different image from what they have used on the front.

Yup, almost certain we'll get that iconic spaghetti scene for the front. XD

Maybe that bit where they write lovey dovey stuff in wet cement for the inside?

Bugger me, NAILED the inside! XD

Thanks for taking my suggestion Zavvi! X3

i love this disney wave but the backart is sadly a little bummer again. it's still better than a clean back like jb and lm but why is it now always a scene that is already shown on the front?

The more i look at this (and all of Disneys) the more i see that they just don't want their carefully cultivated brands messed with. We're talking history, tradition, and brand recognition - it's just not for sale. Fair enough.

For me, it will come down to the finish - if the finish is as lush with lustre as the pictures suggest, then i have no problem at all with the artwork, even the back being slightly repetitive. After all, what modern times & methods CAN inject into a new release, if its not getting a radical overhaul, is at least the best that modern printing can produce. And, with Zavvi, and with past experience, I guess i just want to see it in hand - if it lacks the suggested lustre then it's a fail in these modern times.

If they are gloating about low production figures of 4000 (and don't reveal it until the 11th hour, surprise, surprise), then I guess when they say "vibrant", that we should tone things down a little and await another surprise. Afterall, how many steelbooks are being released with a finish that delights us compared to those that disappoint us?

Think about it.

Damn I've been trying hard to cut down down on releases and now this looks so awesome. I've currently got normal amaray but I got it free on Disney rewards so technically I can trade it in and use the money towards this steel. Lucky this won't be out until February so ill preorder and then decide.
