Mine came with paint chips under the data card :( Rang Customer Services and they said OOS and they don't know if they will get any more :( will keep an eye out on their website just in case he was wrong :)

It really is a nice steelbook, pity the film could not have matched it, I felt it was rather slow moving.

Do you have pics of the chips?

According to the missus, mine has arrived and is perfectly mint with no slash. I'll confirm once I see it, she isn't as picky as I am :p

 just got mine! Came in the play box minty fresh (no spine slash!) Haven't opened it yet though so fingers crossed there are no issues.

Blind buy so looking forward to watching the film as well :D

Got mine this morning as well, no marks, dents or slashed spines for me. I'm gonna miss Play for their superb packaging of Steelbooks :(

snap - little chips front back and sides!

Why does this have a matt finish when it was supposed to be a nicer gloss varnish finish? :dunno:

There are varying degrees of gloss, this isn't harsh matte. It isn't full gloss. It's somewhere inbetween.

It's rare to see anything with the same amount of gloss as Terminator Salvation (for example). Either companies don't want to spend the money, or it's a design decision. Probably the latter is some cases, but mostly the former I'm guessing.

The lack of gloss recently and increase in low quality steelbooks around the world has made me a lot less enthused about collecting them. That, and the QC issues.

As for this steelbook, it's ok, looks like they put a bit of effort in with the bullet holes and shiny guns, so that's appreciated, but personally I don't think it's a keeper. Maybe, I dunno, haven't made my mind up yet, which usually means I'll sell/trade it.

Forgot to add, mine arrived mint.

The only company who uses extreme glossy finishes is Sony. I always look forward to their releases (usually HMV exclusives) as they always have a quality feel even though they don't have embossing or debossing.
