Major update from Choi 7/13/2013: [Mod. Edit: PLEASE READ]

Today I officially announced the pre-order date & time for 2nd round
as I said before, Kimchi will fix pre-order date & time based on UK time zone.:scat:

London (United Kingdom - England) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 13:00:00 BST UTC+1 hour
Seoul (South Korea) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 21:00:00 KST UTC+9 hours
Vancouver (Canada - British Columbia) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 05:00:00 PDT UTC-7 hours
New York (U.S.A. - New York) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 08:00:00 EDT UTC-4 hours
Paris (France) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 14:00:00 CEST UTC+2 hours
Corresponding UTC (GMT) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 12:00:00

-1x copy per slipcover (2x copies for slipcover was sold out too fast like 7 min, That's why kimchi put more restriction for quarter slip release)
-5x copies per lenticular

here is technical problem solved so far

after you pay via paypal, you will automatically return to main page of kimchidvd and you can go to order page to check if your order is completed.

(previous kimchi, does not provide automatic payment completed by paypal, only kimchi handle one by one to complete order by manually matched with paypal transaction. it's kind of big burden and many problem happened)

and another announcement for shipping

Small packet is removed, K-packet applied for all of item sold in kimchidvd
K-packet is slightly expensive than small packet but there is lots of benefits

- Printed slip with tracking number
- End-to-End tracking with delivery confirmation (No lost shipment)
- Reasonable cost than EMS
- generally takes 5-15 days (EMS: 5-10 days, Small packet 15 -35 days)

but some member are curious why kimchidvd changed shipping method

From T2 kimchi release, Kimchi handled more than 1,000 box to ship out to post office KR, this is a big volume of post office KR to handle only for one store.

so post office does not allow kimchi to accept small packet any more :(
and asked kimchi to change K-packet rather than small packet due to too many package in one or two day.

after changed of k-packet, pack & shipping process is much more faster than small packet and very reliable shipping method in terms of tracking.

even now, some of member did not received T2 kimchi after shipping process done at 26th June because no tracking available for small packet.

1 or 2 steelbook for shipping charge between small packet & k-packet is only difference around 2$

please kindly understand kr post office policy for massive volume of shipment like over 1,000 boxes and more powerful tracking for lost shipment protection.

Thanks

Just to confirm that after emailing a copy of the PayPal receipt to Tony he acted very quickly and confirmed the order as 'Payment completed'.

I don't know whether this applies to everybody in the same situation or whether orders are being fixed on an individual basis as people are responding to the 'delete and cancel' notification being sent out, but I'd advise anybody who has concerns to email tony directly ([email protected]) for a resolution.

That is what I did, and the payment was then showing as completed on my account. I emailed the sender of the email though, not Tony. I then realized that the email address is a member on this site (I think)!

IMO, Kimchi is going out of their way to provide a great experience for its collectors. Such as limiting the quantity to 500, numbering it as well.

Yes and that is fantastic which is why i'm annoyed.

As my man with the master plan (Choi) says, the 2nd batch will cater to all you good European folks, in term of release time. This IMO goes above and beyond what is necessary. They are a Korean company, why the hell should they work on UK time? What does it matter to them if a person from the UK, or the US buy their product? So consider yourself lucky that they are nice enough to accommodate your needs. I have no problems with them raising the price. The original price was a promotional price, everyone knew that weeks in advance. Don't be crying if you missed out.

Going above and beyond what is necessary should include listing at times that would allow everyone a fair chance of acquiring a copy. Two separate batches at the pre-order price would've been a good idea. It should matter to them because the UK is the biggest market for Steelbooks (according to the number of members on this site), therefore they should try and cater to collectors from the UK at least as much as they have to other countries, not list a pre-order at possibly the most awkward time they could. I'm not sure you would be happy if you had missed out and I told you not to cry about it.

As far as I'm concerned, the limit was 2 per customer, as it is clearly stated in Kimchi's website. Is there some kinda discrepancy I'm not aware of?

There is no discrepancy, it is clearly stated on Kimchi's website that the limit for the 1/4 slip version is two (revised down from three) and the limit for the lenticular version was five copies. I'm no mathematician but i'm pretty sure that's seven (originally would've been eight) and not two.

Awkward to who? The time was right for people in Asia and N & S America. as I said, they're a Korean company, they don't have to operate in UK time, not reasonable. Yet they've stepped out and accomodate you in the 2nd batch. Not good enough for you? It sucks paying a bit more, but someone's gotta win and someone's gotta lose. The Earths gotta rotate no matter what my friend. I think we were not on the same page as to the numbers people were able to purchase. I was talking about the 1/4 slip only. I guess you took into account both the 1/4 slip and lenticular.

I don't see what the big deal is the price and time that the Steels where going live were posted what a week before the date. So everyone had a chance to get in on the $3 cheaper limited pre-order. No matter if it was 5-8PM in the states or 1am or earlier across the pond. Everyone had enough time to be ready and make plans. Plus is $3 more going to kill the deal no and if it does we shouldn't be collecting. They could of let them all go last night and a lot more would have missed. I actually like how they limited it and should continue to do with other releases to let everyone have a chance to pre order since we all can't be on the Computer and awake 24/7. They should of just let the order be 1max of each of the pre-order price.

The time they go on sale will never please everyone, but I don't agree with them increasing the price after only a few hours of it being on sale. Not even Zavvi do that.

Sorry but u wrong. They didn't increase the price. They give u opportunity to buy (250 +750) at lower price. After that price go back to original level.

---------- Post added at 07:23 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:21 PM ----------

I wish zavvi be like Kimchi !!! I can only dream of it

Alright already.....
I have missed out on many of these for one reason or another. Bottom line, if you know all the info and you miss it then lesson not learned.
Friends, the $3.00 was a discount. If you missed the discount, you have another chance in a few days to purchase for the normal price.
Be ready for the other 50% of this run or after that all those who missed out will be talking about the high prices on Ebay.

Awkward to the country that is the most represented on the site. If that's not a good enough reason to accommodate UK collectors, then I don't know what is. I don't see why we should have to pay more, so no it's not good enough. As I said, they should have split the initial pre-order into two batches and listed them at separate times so that everyone has a fair chance of getting one. It's easy to say 'tough luck' when things have fallen nicely for yourself, i'm not sure you're opinion would've been the same had things not been so convenient for yourself.

As for the numbers people were able to purchase, well since my first post since the pre-order, it is pretty evident that I was referring to both whereas you seemed pretty oblivious to the fact. Even when I clearly pointed out the number of copies of each version, you quoted the post saying there must be a discrepancy you were missing.

The big deal is that it is not always possible to make plans unless those plans involved losing your job. The fact that the information in the OP of this thread was incorrect didn't help either.

What was wrong in the OP of the thread. The time date were given, it also said they will only have limited copies for the price of $41.99. This thread has been live for the last 3-4 weeks probably never been off of page 1. I honestly figured the server would crash and they would sell out fast than they did.

To get back on track hopefully the next batch everyone that missed out will get orders in.

Sunday July 7th 12:00AM GMT was approximately 43 hours ago, not last night.

That's my bad, meant to write July 8th 12:00AM GMT.

Oh well, next time I'll put the Korean time only and you guys will figure it out :p

It's all your fault! I was crying into my cornflakes this morning! :p

Seriously, no blame attached to you. I doubt it had any effect on anyone's ability to order as it was pretty evident that it wasn't going to go live Saturday night (though I do feel sorry for anyone who waited on Saturday night for it to go live), but for the purpose of the point I was trying to make, it works quite nicely :hilarious:

Well, retailers do not often announce the exact time or day that something will be on sale, so we're fortunate that we receive advance notice at all from this or other retailers. Personally I am glad this retailer is going the extra mile with design and qty's released to appeal to collectors, especially as other retailers don't often stop and consider the hobby or the special wants of Steelbook fans at all. I was on vacation when round 1 went live, so I am hoping that I am able to order for round 2. Good luck all! :scat:
