I feel for you mate,It's not so much the customs fees it's the fact of no info & wondering whether it's been opened which it probably has & hoping it arrives undamaged. Am really pleased for other Ninjas it's just a sickener, won't use EMS again.

If it's been opened, the postman won't be leaving my property till they have paid full price for it.

I know it's a chance you take when importing but I feel like I chucked $10 down the drain in paying for EMS shipping & how long does it take for them to work out customs fees? You've had my parcel for three days. I'll be livid if it arrives damaged.

I always chose merchandise with value under 20 $ and never was hit by customs . but if they hit me I would consider move to different address with amount Steelbooks I buy , it might be cheaper than pay fees like smiley for every each release

Best way to avoid customs.

mark as merchandise and low value with invoice from kimchi.

check your local customs site for allowance.

mark as gift but sent from commercial company might be stuck in customs.

I chose gift for tangled after doing some research and that arrived on Friday fine.

I am a bit confused now though- everything I read said marking as gift was best :-\

i doesn`t make sense at all to order with gift option from a professional Retailer i`m using merchandise option but also got hit by customs - it`s always a gamble

Here in Germany the customs usually don't care what is marked on the outside of the package. If they think the price indicated is not correct, they will look for an official invoice outside. If they cannot find an invoice outside, you have to pick up the package personally to open it and bring an offical invoice.

Getting a parcel through customs is a total lottery. To me, marking an item as Gift or Merchandise makes no difference. If you parcel gets picked on by a custom official then your just unlucky. On my last parcel from Kimchi the writing on the CN22 form was so small that customs officials wouldn`t have been able to read if it was Gift or Merchandise or even the value.
