Well at least there WAS a difference! I'm sorry but this is just ridiculous that people have paid in excess of $20 more when you factor in ems and customs for kimchi release when this is identical.....

besides the fact that there is a numbered card (and numbered editions play a certain role for collectors), it's your choice to choose the more expensive EMS shipping, and packages from yesasia can also easily get hit by customs.

i can understand some disappointment, i also wished that the slipcover was exclusive, but in the end it's just a digital disc in a metal box, so nothing to get mad about. there's still more important things in life. CHUCKED

Wreck might as well close the forum then. There's no point in talking about stuff like Steelbooks when there are more important things going on in the World!

Don't sell me an exclusive at an exclusive price and then make it available to everyone else after it sells out then. It's an absolute joke.

I'd like some sort of explanation from Kimchi on this one

uuhh, no!
it's good to have some distraction from the "more important things". :)

actually the price was not so exclusive, it's the same with the kimchi and the non-exclusive version.
and like i said, collectors want it numbered, i paid 60€ for my T2 kimchi excl. @ebay (just for the numbered sticker and some postcards that will not see the light of day because i keep it sealed), when i could have easily ordered the "same" (non-exclusive) steelbook for just 45$.

and btw.: even the plain archive "exclusive" the wrestler 1/4 slip is not SO exclusive, they are selling 800 copies of this apart from the announced 3k print-run in korea.

so, if you want real exclusives, customize your steelbooks. :) otherwise you will get disappointed more and more often, given the current developments in steelbook world.

Yesasia is nothing but an intermediary for all the other Asian retailers. I'm sure for some releases they MIGHT get their own stock, but for MANY of them, they're just ordering from the other retailers (e.g. KimchiDVD, Amazon.jp, etc.) and then forwarding the steelbooks on to you. If you notice, a LOT of their orders (once placed) CAN NOT be cancelled. This is due to the fact that they are simply a "middle man" and once you've ordered from them, they immediately order from the other retailers (unless they've already ordered bulk stock). I for one am all in favor of this. There has been more than just a few times that a steelbook has gone OOS on Kimchi, Amazon or one of the many other Asian retailer sites and I've managed to secure a copy through yesasia. My point being that there's no reason to get upset that they're carrying a Kimchi only (non-exclusive) steelbook. They're just ordering from Kimchi and then passing it along to you...

Also, what's the huge surprise with the Leon non-exclusive being the same as the exclusive?! I GUARANTEE that many of you buy steelbooks in the same type of situation ALL the time without even thinking twice. Many steelbooks, as you ALL know, come with the same art from all over the world. The ONLY difference is a sticker and/or a slip. And with some of them (depending on which country they come from) you will pay significantly more money for with NO questions asked. But here you're upset that you could've held out and bought the non-exclusive for less money? Dollars to donuts says you still would've bought the exclusive even if you had bothered to educate yourselves on the differences (or lack thereof), because that little numbered card (to most collectors) makes ALL the difference in the world.

Look at T2 Korea, the ONLY differences between the Korean version and the Kimchi "exclusive" is a sticker and some art cards (not even a numbered card). I don't know that I've EVER seen anyone requesting a copy of the non-exclusive on the forums (I'm sure someone has, I just personally have not seen it.). Heck, you can even still find it on eBay for retail price (or SLIGHTLY above)! My point here is AGAIN, that this has happened PLENTY of times before and I'm not a betting man, but if I were, I think most of you would still buy the exclusive if you could go back and do it all over again.

I have been so impressed by this film so far, the cinematography, score, and characters are master class level! This has really lived up and in a lot ways surpassed its reputation! What I love the most about L E O N is it's charm despite its content! I  it! Thanks, Jake!

I received this steelbook last saturday from yesasia. It took exactly 5 weeks to arrive. But without any custom fees. Thats good. Packing was good (lots of bubble wrap).

It`s an very beautiful steel. I`m happy.

But I am not 100 % satisfied with the quality of production.

There is 1 "point" on the front side, which you can see when you hold it against the light. A very little paint error where the paint is not smooth. Hard to describe for me in english.
The back side has a very litte dent. The packing was good and the slip etc. is undamaged. So it is a production error.

When you open the steelbook itself, on the edge where you open it some paint ist missing (you can only see it when open).

And the clear slip has some slight scratches and lines which you can see from different angles.
I`ve have seen such scratches/lines on the clear slip in different pictures here. So this is not a "one thing".

These are all very little things, but it`s strange because in general it`s a high quality steel.

But although I am very happy to have this steelbook on my shelf.

Just got a copy off ebay, not too bothered about the numbered card. the steel looks fantastic, I couldn't pass on this for the uk one which is a bit dull compeared to this.

How much you pay for it? If you don't mind me asking :)
