It's no longer listed as a directors cut on Zavvis site so they must have had enough sent back to make the change. With them having to pay out for all the Collect + returns labels hopefully their listings will be checked in future to ensure accuracy.

I would also be surprised if any other films in the series come out following this as I think there will probably be a significant price drop on this one.

Disappointed in this one, from the OP I was hoping for something like the blu fans Face Off, where's the embossed bullet gone?
 
speedjay....we do have rights regarding falsely advertised products....but Zavvi have never given a flying f*** about that!!! they are a law onto themselves!!
Erm....I'm not sure whether you're having a pop at me, in case you are..why? If not, my apologies. If you're in the USA or anywhere outside of the UK, Zavvi is a UK based company and is therefore required by law to display the BBFC Age Rating on every DVD or Blu Ray it sells. It's the law in the UK unfortunately bud.
 
I got this one early in the week. I don't know where all the hate is coming from? I really like it, nice and simple, to the point, and I can't think of any other artwork that would do the front justice.

Yes Zavvi messed up with the inclusion of directors cut alongside the title, but as far as the finish itself goes I happen to think it's a perfectly serviceable steelbook to be honest.

There's no error on the embossing (unlike The recent Winter Soldier) There's no crazy shine on the rear from badly printed artwork (Warner premium collection, Point Break etc I'm looking at you) And for the complainers stating that it's a pointless release on it's own... there was never any indication that Zavvi won't follow through with the other three. Yes, I'm annoyed about their lack of Die Hard 3 to this date, but seeing as the Lethal Weapon series were all released by Warner I reckon Zavvi have ideas down the line to get the other three pumped out.

People just looking for a reason to troll Zavvi threads, instead of not ordering anymore from zavvi and leaving the threads to those that are excited about their steelbook releases. Thanks for your logical post.

Hmm define 'trolling', correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think anybody was trying to troll. It's an okay Steelbook for £6.99 not the price most of us paid. The lack of communication between Zavvi and distributors is ridiculous quite frankly. If they bothered to update the listing prior to dispatch, half the people here, myself included wouldn't have ordered it and thus would be no qualms.

What the hell is wrong with Zavvi?

The returns label they sent me requested a replacement rather than a refund which I then cross out and write refund in its place, then they send me an email 2 days ago stating they have received my return, then today I get another email stating they will get a replacement out to me as soon as possible.

Are they really that desperate to clear these out?

And they wonder why people would rather shop at amazon

You got a little further along than me. . I emailed them asking for a refund returns label and finally got an email from them stating from that they couldn't cancel my item cos it had been dispatched? ?? They completely ignored the fact that I went through the returns part and not the cancellation questions and ignored what I had written in my email. . I think they think if they mess you around enough you'd give up trying to return it altogether:banghead::sour::smashed:

So another request to return it followed by another collect plus label they will have to pay for, seriously we can do this every week until they get the message, I do not want this title no matter how desperately they want rid of them

I only wish a company with some level of customer service took over the steelbooks when play gave them up, this lot really don't deserve my money or my time

When I noticed this thread was bumped I thought it had dropped to £6.99 :D

Still waiting for my refund, got stuck at Collect Plus for the past week or so. Have learnt my lesson to always wait for in-hand pics before ordering.

Right just sent this to the bright sparks at Zavvi

I recently returned this item to you as it was not as described. On 8th December you emailed me to say you had received it back and I've been awaiting a refund since.
I've now received an email saying a replacement has been sent today which, once again I don't want. I wonder if you even bother to read the letters or emails customers send you?
I still want a refund for this item and now need yet another returns label for this steelbook.
It is safe to say I will not be ordering these in future as it is a complete nightmare to put things right.
Can you please provide another returns label and my refund for this title to finally resolve this matter.

I wonder if this will do the trick or if I'll get another generic "do not reply" response

I returned mine today i don't expect it back, if it does it's going straight back. This title will end up costing them a small fortune if they keep bouncing them back.

In response to my email complaining that they sent a replacement I received this reply

I am very sorry, a replacement has already been processed and was sent on 10-Dec-2014.
Delivery is usually made within 3-5 working days. However, we do ask that you allow up to 14 days for delivery before reporting the order as missing.

This has to be deliberate as I don't believe anyone could be this thick! either that or they can't read English and just take a guess at what you have asked them.

I will never order another thing from this shoddy company as their customer service is shocking

I Laughed out loud when I read ^ that part of Your post.. I'm right there with you! I always think that when I read their replies.. They take incompetents to a whole new level!!
I hope they don't mess you around any further.
I finally got an email from them with a returns label, I have yet to print it out and I'm hoping they have stated "refund" on the returns label and not "replacement" otherwise I'll be starting over. I have to send this steel and another one back to them but they have sent me only one returns label so hopefully that one label covers the weight for both steels.. then we wait for them to receive it... then we wait & wait & wait for them to finally refund our bank accounts.. it must be the most drawn out transaction process I have ever had to go through with a uk company.. absolutely ridiculous.

This steelbook itself is not the worst in the world but I didn't feel it was worth £15 to me, it really would be helpful to see the actual steelbook just before release so that we can cancel just before they take our money.. a lot of the time we have very little information on releases and we have to pre order (to not miss out) and sometimes we don't even know what the back art or finish is, or the disc spec's till it arrives on our doorsteps. Crazy.

Hope you get your refund soon:):)
 
Happened to me couple of times. Sent out replacements when the request was to refund. I always take a photocopy of the returns form and the photos of the package so that they don't mess around. Last time I had to wait for a month to get a refund. They can get on your nerves many times but patience is virtue.

Same story with Kimchi. Cancelled Dallas Buyers Club more than 10 days ago but no sign of the refund. To me no company can beat Amazon w.r to customer service
