I got mine in my local HMV today for £21.99 ....they unwrap them all which is a bummer, but as its A lenticular steel I would have unwrapped it anyway....and I have to say, I think this steel is absolutely beautiful. The colouring is fantastic and it just oozes quality!! The 3D amaray is £19.99 so for the extra £2 for the 3D lenticular steelbook is an absolute no brainer. I also report that the ones I checked out had no spine slashes or any paint chips!

Eventually arrived, perfect condition.......and I received a 22p refund.........gonna go mad in my canteen tomorrow morning!;)

yeah i got that this morning also. I've just recenly opened mine and found a paint chip the size of a pin head maybe even smaller. Contacted Amazon and got £5 refund.

mine has a slashed spine from amazon the little gits ill contact them tomorrow to try and sort something out justin can we have a step by step guide how to get from 20% to 50% please :D

I contacted amazon since I have 5 paint chips to see If I can get a partial refund, I will be pissed if I get less than £5 off considering others have got that for less, two of my paint chips are actually lines.

Got mine from Amazon today. No damage I can see, but either way a very nice steelbook. Should be a good film too.....once I finish my Disney Blu Ray marathon, lol. :hilarious:

I feel a bit sorry for many retailers now. I personally believe a steel is gonna be prone to the odd chip or scratch as its metal and paint. Many collectors are soooo OCD, it's now putting retailers in an awkward situation. For example EE are sending a further 500 copies or jack Reacher due to an extremely faint line. Tbh I was perfectly happy with my copy and feel quite guilty EE felt the need to send a further copy.
If this trend continues, I think it will come back to bite us maybe?
Back to this steel though, it is one of my favourites in my collection :)

I wouldn't feel that sorry for them tbh, they know what they are getting into, as you said its metal and paint, if they know anything about steelbooks then they know that a fair amount is going to get sent back and either replaced or refunded, its just the way it is, nothing is going to change.

Watching that ad for that Channel 4 Dispatches program on Royal Mail doesnt surprise me, the way I've seen other's steelbooks turn up... 0_0

Arrived this morning from Amazon.
Knife slash. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU..........................

Contacted them and they said return for full refund on keep and 4 pounds discount.

Argh!

Just received mine from Amazon. First thing I looked for was the dreaded spine slash - and just my luck, it has one. Not a complete slash, it's the start of one, maybe a millimetre long, with an even smaller slash continuing onto the side of the front face.

My first thought was send it back, but I think I'll keep it. Haven't opened it yet though, so if there's any other issues I'll be contacting them.

Open it pal asap....ive started opening a whole heap recently now that i have plastic sleeves but boy i tell u some titles which i bought which looked mint sealed....once unsealed a very different story....with these i am not even covered by the refund warranty as that has now become void. I would urge most collectors who collect to watch their movies whom i assume are the vast majority here do open when u can just to make sure there arent any imperfections.
