I remember only the Taiwan release have a slip over it but not the china release.
Maybe those bought the china version can verify?

Here's a picture of the Korean edition with the slipcover. It's the only country with the slipcover that has pictures of the characters from the movie.

I have this steel. Got it for pretty cheap when I first started collecting. Of course, me being a noob to steels at the time, I opened it. Can't quite believe the price I'm seeing sealed ones on eBay for though

There has been a big influx of buyers of Asian steels this last year. Add to that the massive influx of buyers looking for Disney and this one is a no brainer.

Chip, from what i see on here, you are the biggest advocate of Asian steels. Have you collected them from the start or have you got into them in the last couple of years? This is a beauty of a steel. Does this have a lower print run than the other Asian releases of this film to be more sought after?

I would estimate about 4000 of this steel were produced and then spread out between the Asian countries. In other words. Its a keeper. Only going to be in more demand as time goes on IMO.

thanks for the information. I did not know that. Any picture of it? I can't find a dedicated thread on the singapore version. If that's the case, then it's probably the rarest of them all.

I think this is probably the best looking steelbook I've seen - someone's thought long and hard about the design and how to produce something that really means something to the content of the film rather than just finding an obscure bit of artwork to use.

As requested, here's the shot of the locally (Singapore) available Lion King steelbook. Definitely under rated. :p
