Word of caution from an UK HDN Member about HMV (thanks VRob98)

HMV now in administration said:
People should just be aware of 2 things:

1) If you receive a damaged or faulty copy from now on, you will not receive a replacement or refund

2) If they charge your card and are then unable to fulfil your order, you will not be refunded.

The way a company operates whilst under administration is quite different to how it operates normally, and certain consumer rights are suspended. If anything goes wrong you would have to apply to the administrator or claim against your credit card issuer.

I'd encourage everyone who has orders in with HMV to consider the above, as I'd hate to see anyone here lose their money in all of this.

Available to pre-order right now.
Release date: January 28, 2013
Purchase Link: Amazon.co.uk
Note: No inside art (see post #443)

Excellent news!

Do we know for sure that HMV have cancelled all existing pre-orders? If so, then obviously people will be wanting to pre-order this from Amazon now the price has dropped... but if HMV orders are still active and will possibly be sent out, then I don't fancey buying it twice! I wish HMV would make some sort of announcement themselves, rather than leaving us in the dark as usual.

Amazon down to £18.00 now

:smashed:doh, that was quick!

It's a shame they can't send out some generic FAQs e-mail with their plans regarding pre-orders.

Me too. I actually thought it would have been one of the first things they'd do, but as always HMV like to prove they don't even care about their customers. Surely it'd make things a lot easier for everyone if they just made an official announcement explaining the situation with pre-orders etc, instead of just leaving us all guessing... their phone lines/staff probably wouldn't be getting hassled as much for a start.

I've gone ahead and put in an order with Amazon anyway. I figured even if I do receive the one from HMV, then I can just return the one from Amazon and get my money back.

The price reduction makes it a very easy decision now to cancel any HMV orders for this one.

No worries about packaging, returns, refunds etc. etc. No reason not to switch orders to Amazon now.

Very good that they've reduced the price in line with HMV's! I'm hoping they add Resident Evil Retribution, I've got a few gift vouchers for Amazon. If they don't add RE, i'll use them on Looper.

It remains unclear whether the orders will be canceled or not?
It's annoying because I can not afford to buy two it would be really useless.

I want to cancel all my pre orders with HMV but with the site being off line is there anyway I can do this?

Phoned at 2, confirmed that ALL pre orders are cancelled. That was from one of the administrators 0207 30 30 700
