zavvi would make a good comic book because how they run the business is comical, they must think people are stooooooooopid

Its release day is the 12th of January according to Zavvi's website. Are you expecting it to ship before this? That would be a nice surprise.
Zavvi almost always ship a few days before release, that way at least for those of us in the UK the majority of the time we receive it on or before the release date.

the stupid was zavvis business practices claiming that it was sold out as per normal.
but hey if people want to volunteer to being stupid then i guess that is there prerogative, i can't help them any further with that :rofl::rofl:

basil ;)

It's the season, decorated trees, children with happiness in their hearts, Christmas cards being exchanged and a month to go before the Blu Ray release date the first of the Zavvi " sorry your order hasn't been sent yet"emails.

Oh Zavvi and your quaint outdated not fit for purpose ordering / stock control system , how to make this time of year oh so special.

Yeah, and they're coming thick and fast. It's like not a day goes by without receiving an email apologising for the delay in despatching this. Well, if you were planning on releasing it in December, then fair enough, but your website claims the release is now January. I can wait, you know. Don't get me wrong, it would have been real special to be able to unwrap Scarlett on Christmas morning...

is this worth buying ?

hhhhmm intresting question do you mean is this a good film, or will this be a good steel or will this be worth buying as it will increase in value?

all down to personal prospective and views of what your wanting it for as different people on here buy for many reasons without those its hard to help where your coming from, but welcome to hdn

ive seen mixed reviews about the film itself. Is it one of those steels which will rise in value ?

honestly i very much doubt will raise value off the top of my head there are 10-11 versions worldwide so this will not run out.
Personally i think this will drop over time as have alot of others that started out from zavvi but these are just my views you will have another 10 people that tell you the reverse.
In all honesty if you are in it for collecting and making money you are very unlikely to, you would have to be soo expectional savvy.
the chance of making money would be better spent on the lottery but that is just my view.

Most of us on here are in it for collecting for our own collections. some will buy 2 keep one sealed and one for use.
Then get some go full extreme and have 3 one sealed, one sealed for trade and one for use.
Then some us me in this case just buy one open and watch and keep in a protective case.

i suggest having a good read around and you will see where i'm coming from.
Also if you want to end up getting in on the group buys you will have to i think is 30 non spam posts on the board to be a part of them

another place for new members to get involved is the feedback section for suppliers for films people would like see come go have a look.

anyway hope has helped

If value is what interests you, then you can't go by reviews. This film as far as fans and box office takings are concerned is one of the most successful of the year outside the summer megabudget releases, which means that regardless of what the critics think this will sell well. Some films don't immediately sell out and become rare or go up in value, in fact outside a few Asian releases, Marvel and Disney the vast majority of steelbooks are falling in price. Buy it now prices on eBay are often just greedy where as if you are prepared to bid in auctions and have some patience you will more often than not get what you want at reasonable prices.

This steel could hang around for a while or it could in a matter of weeks be gone, thats the price that people pay if they want it to go cheaper. Kick Ass 2 was a perfect example of that, mixed reviews critically, but it had it's fans and when the steel was released and looked good it was only a matter of week or so and it was gone, those that wanted it cheaper and passed on the original price ended up having to pay double that price for a long time.

Well put.
Great movies vs. Great steelbooks vs. The Market. It's really what you want, and what the value is to you.
There are some steels that I instinctively know are going to be worth something and go fast, even though I think the movie is terrible. I don't sell steels, so I could basically care less, UNLESS I think it could be good for a trade later on for something I do want. It's always a crapshoot to guess if you should wait for a price drop, or get boned when it goes OOP. Everyone has had that moment when they realized they guessed wrong on one. I love EVIL DEAD 2. Zavvi had a 'limited Edition'. Jump all over that cuz it's gonna be gone, right?!!
Wrong. It's £9.99 for the taking right now. Ouch. (What did I pay? Wait. Don't remind me...!)
Or the last TAKEN steel- wait for the price drop right? Nope. Gone- and fast. And most likely won't be back. $60 on the bay. Ouch. It's all an educated crapshoot, and I have a pretty good average- but you will be wrong, and lose from time to time. I hate it when that happens!;)
(P.S. WON on TAKEN- got two for list):D.
