Preordered this as I have not managed to catch it at the cinema.
The price if this is still less than the snacks and tickets so we will see.

Sounds like a marmite kind of film by the reviews on here

Marmite .......... Love it or loath it for our non UK cousins

Interesting, never had a price go up with Zavvi, do they honour the original price?

Bloody hope so! I know it's only a couple of quid, but takes the piss. Don't know where any of us stand and I think Zavvi's pre-order price guarantee (when it's in place) takes effect if and when the price drops prior to actual release. Who's to blame for the price rise too; Zavvi or the studio?

Saw this movie yesterday and loved it it was very actiony, beautiful lead and a thought provoking movie. Any movie you come out of and a still discussing 30 mins later, has done it's job! So I'm definitely getting this steel!

I've asked them over on Twitter as it is usually the quickest way to get a reply :D

Any news yet? I've not yet experienced this thing you call Twitter (;)), but if you hear anything...

I suspect we're screwed either way. They'll probably say that those of us who were quick to get a pre-order in at £19.99 will now have to pay £21.99 as it would be unfair on those who didn't know about the release. Still doesn't make it right to raise the price so quickly after the initial news :grumpy:

That's not how the law works in the UK, the displayed price is an invite to purchase. Technically speaking a shop can refuse to sell you an item if it's incorrectly priced. But I suspect Zavvi will honour the orders placed when it was £19.99. Wasn't there a problem a few months back with one of the disney titles that you could save £3 off another selcted title but the £3 came off the main purchase. Zavvi honoured those didn't they?

The price we paid will stand its not the first time a release the price went up it happens with Zavvi and Amazon.uk and others all the time

Your order has an agreed price and payment method agreed be it a debit/credit card

They can increase or reduce the price as they see fit
If the release has a pre order price promise then you would be entitled to the reduced price if your ordered when it was a dearer price but only if they reduced it after you ordered up to release date and you did not use any discount codes

Its a normal thing to see happen a price go up or go down
I cancel orders all the time if a release the price goes down but I have always got the price I ordered at or less if its reduced after I order
I just cancel and re order at the cheaper price especially with Zavvi

If you miss out on a cheaper price and it goes up before you place an order its called bad luck that's all

If there is a price error made they can if they want cancel all orders but that's very rare and I don't think its what happened here
Your contract of sale only happens when you have paid for goods and they are delivered to you

An easy pass for me as i dont like the movie as well as the artwork no thinking or effort has gone into making this steelbook as it lacks quality and design in my opinion...

The artwork is currently placeholder artwork that was probably thrown together quickly (I mean it looks like they took a bluray slip and pasted it on the top of a Steelbook). The actual artwork could change dramatically by the time of release.

I get the feeling that some people posting here don't realise that the whole only using 10% of your brain capacity premise in the film is a myth/urban legend & not based on fact at all. :p
This is a silly but fun film, like The Fifth Element and you should take it as one rather than anything serious.

IMHO this movie rocks, Scarlett does a great job in this movie and of course Morgan Freeman is a great actor too, I always enjoy movies he plays in. I really like this artwork, I especially like how her eye has most of the color, very original to say the least. This will look good in my collection.

I agree with what you are saying but im not a fan of this movie. Regarding the artwork and design my hopes are not high because they are only a few good releases through Zavvi majority of there steelbooks are average i like Kimchi and the chinese editions with their lettering which is a bonus for me as it adds quality to their steelbooks in my opinion...
