So basically its 98% matte! Cheers Zavvi, upto your old tricks as usual! Spot is NOT gloss! Gloss is all of it! Very disappointed! It's the Aviator all over again

"Gloss" does not mean all of it, never has..It says SPOT gloss. Meaning a "spot" of gloss on certain areas to enhance the artwork. If it was an all over gloss finish then it would have said "Full Gloss". BIG difference.

Nope! As Kizza says, it was listed as gloss. Unfortunately Zavvi's past lies on this subject means I will take their idea of spot gloss as no gloss at all. They just hope not everyone will return the item once caught out.

They would be listing this with gloss in the description if it truly was as past gloss and spot gloss steels have sold out, even on bad films!

Then I saw the updated news in regards to the finish .

Hopefully they'll have a nice slip edition for this instead since they usually have nice finishes.

But steelbooks aren't displayed opened on the shelf so the spine shouldn't even matter.

yeah, why not just use the rest of the picture for the spine and then put the title in black. or even just have a grey spine and black title. at least it would flow better then.

Technically some of it carries through as the maths carries through, i agree though it would have looked better as one image rather than breaking it up with the black spine.

don't why everyone is moaning about the spine, wouldn't it look odd if you got all black spines as most are with a title.
i personally think would look odd if carried photo on against other steels on the shelf not to mention a nose on the spine with lips and then title would have to be on her nose as well look really good

Yep, not only have they now confirmed it won't be proper gloss, they actually had the nerve to put the price up on it when it was first announced as gloss.

Order cancelled, I'm sick of Zavvi's lies and antics. Will get the Korean version instead.

Did Zavvi actually ever say it was full Gloss, or was it just Wreck? I don't remember seeing it being mentioned anywhere on Zavvi's website, but could be wrong.

Some Steelbooks need to be full gloss to look awesome, I don't think this is one of them - I think it'll look great with the spot gloss personally.

Edit: To clarify, I'm not blaming anyone for this (plus I'm perfectly happy with the steelbook & keeping my order either way) - I'm sure the information was correct at the time, thanks HDN for keeping us up to date with any changes!

Don't know either. Only in the last few days has it been downgraded from gloss finish to spot finish. Or as I like to call it "Aviator gloss" IE matte.
