And there was me thinking this was a Zavvi exclusive....
https://www.zoom.co.uk/product/lucy_blu_ray_steel_book
Its possible they purchased stock from Zavvi when the price dropped and are re-selling it on their website as it happens on Amazon and other retailer websites especiallyy with third party sellers
Its very expensive on the zoom website so its a better option to purchase from Zavvi

Zavvi don't restrict were stock purchased from them ends up for sale after release date
Its only when its a pre order that other websites are not meant to list for sale

Not sure it's quite the same thing, Amazon have a marketplace for sellers to sell whatever they wish I don't see Amazon listing Lucy steelbook for sale, and from what I can see the Zoom website has no marketplace for other sellers.

Lot of other websites list Zavvi exclusives after release date some are third party some are the website themselves and the film studios can offer unsold stock to other retailers if a release is not selling well

Some websites also are third party sellers themselves but don't clearly say it you can usually see this when the price is lot more than Zavvi sells it for

I've already answered this,
From their website : Zoom.co.uk is the trading name of Universal Pictures (UK) Limited & Sony Pictures Home Entertainment Alliance.

So they hold the right to the title, so can list it I suppose, though not many other steelbooks from what I can see.

Zoom Themselves don't hold the rights to Universal or Sony Releases
Zoom UK act under agency agreement on behalf of Universal Pictures (UK) Ltd
Zoom UK themselves don't hold the rights to anything
The rights of Lucy is with Universal and they decide who can sell their releases
Its just Universal UK selling direct using Zoom as they have a licence to sell on their behalf under an agency agreement

Zoom.co.uk is trading through Universal Pictures Production Limited ( Company number 947098) who act under agency agreement on behalf of Universal Pictures (UK) Ltd. UP(UK) and UPP are wholly owned subsidiaries of the NBC Universal Group, and subsidiaries of Comcast Corporation

Lucy was most likely not selling well so I suspect universal decided to use Zoom to try shift more stock using Zoom and as they are a licenced trader under an agency agreement with universal noting Zavvi can do anything about if they decide to do the same with other releases after a period of time has elapsed

Some retailer exclusives can be for 3 months/6 Months/1 Year and after that the Film Studio can sell direct which in this case selling direct is with Zoom or use any retailer they wish to use

Love this steelbook, the design is just plain awesome - especially the mentioned lettering effect. Very happy I scored my copy on release day for just 14,99€ at a local store. :cigar: The movie itself was also not half-bad, so this is definitely worth the buy - even for a little bit more.

Enjoyed this little flick in a theatre last summer and waited for a price drop on the Steel. It arrived yesterday and I am totally surprised and delighted by the quality of it. Spot gloss on eye and title, plus that super cool effect on the letters and formulas.
Very nice release!

Finally took the plunge at £10.99 and it arrived today. I was going to ask on here if the "Y" in LUCY on the titles spine was intentionally faded before starting the torturous process of contacting Zavvi. Looking at the announcement picture on this thread however, that seems to be the case. Strange design choice on an otherwise gorgeous steelbook.
