I'm at Walmart right now and they have a magnetic pre order card with what looks like a steel on the back cover and front.

There's more than people from the UK outside of the U.S. you know!!!!! It's called EUROPE. You should check it out!!

:)

Nothing personal meant by it.. I had just been talking to some people from the U.K. trying to get a copy of this..:thumbs:

REPHRASE of my earlier statement..If anyone ON THIS PLANET needs a pre-order from Walmart here in the U.S. please let me know and I'll see if there are any left here at my local Walmart.

Also if Obama says something I probably disagree with it just to clear that up right off.

someone over on blu-ray.com asked the vudu guys on twitter if it was going to be a steelbook and they replied that it would not be and would only be the regular bd/dvd/dc. so they basically gave a fridge magnet for pre-ordering.

Well that's disappointing, at least Wreck confirmed the US is getting this in Steelbook so I guess the search for the correct retailer continues. :movie:

yep, that leaves a 50/50 split between Target and BBY if WM truely isn't going to get it then.

This is good to know that Walmart's pre-order won't be a steelbook as I was going to Walmart tomorrow to take back some MetalPaks I got awhile ago, and I was going to pick this magnet thing up to pre-order Man of Steel. I had thought it was going to be a steelbook, but it's good to know now that it won't be. So I guess I won't be pre-ordering MoS from Walmart. Unless of course Vudu gave out incorrect info for some reason.

Can't wait for this movie to come out though. I'll be on the lookout for all the potentially awesome steelbooks from around the world!

But the card you buy for the pre-order says blu-ray, DVD, UV copy and exclusive packaging. And now this tweet says "regular Blu-ray disc + UV Digital Copy."

So according to that tweet....no DVD disc and no exclusive packaging. Somebody definitely messed up somewhere, either the tweet is worded very poorly or the pre-order card is way off base.

Honestly even though Walmart owns Vudu, it is in Vudu's best interest to promote digital distribution over media packaging. Not that I think the tweet is false, but I feel it is too early at this point to know which retailer has the exclusive rights to the steelbook. Walmart is the first US retailer to have a promotion for exclusive packaging for MoS in any manner. And if that is not a push to get a jump on the exclusive, I don't know what is.

i was just paraphrasing, i didn't copy and paste exactly what was said. i'm so used to the full combo packs i just typed that out by instinct. also, they didn't actually say it wouldn't be exclusive packaging. the question asked was if the "WM Blu-ray Preorder" was going to be a steelbook, and the answer was basically no. since it appears that there's only one WM Blu-ray pre-order for MoS, it's implied they were speaking about the exclusive packaging.

Guys, calm down please. Whether or not is a steelbook, Wreck will know for sure before its release and he'll update the thread. He's probably beating the **** out of someone right now to get more information about this release ...

On a different note : is the lenticular ard the same type as the one on the german Hobbit steelbook ?

All the Walmarts I've been to in the past week had a good amount of these magnets on the shelf. I'm going to hold out on buying one in case it doesn't turn out to be a steelbook. I have no use for the magnet itself.
