Well, the official site now has no mention of this Collector's Set, just the regular blu-rays so who knows what's going to happen with this release.

Doesn't look like it's going to be cleared up soon either. Any delay would save me the £125 I put aside for this though. Although I'd still like this sitting on my shelf.

All I know is that they need to make up for this. I have no idea how they can top the briefcase. A redesign will just be blasphemy as it is supposed to be the same briefcase that S. Jackson used in the movie.....*shakes fists and head*

And I sold all my slipcover/amaray collection of Avenger movies since I figured i'll be getting the briefcase. Now I only have steelbooks which I prefer not to touch again or unseal (Thor, Cappy America).

ITEM UPDATE: The "Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One--Avengers Assembled Collection" will not be released by Marvel as we originally expected. We know this delay is disappointing, and we're sorry for any inconvenience this causes. Marvel is planning to offer a similar collection in new packaging. The new collection will include the original titles offered with the first version of the item, and we expect it will be available in the spring of 2013. Additional information will be available on our website and via email when available.

They've also announced that they're adding even more extras into the new briefcase to sort of make up for the delay. Not sure if I'll get it anymore. 2013 will be the year of saving for my wedding as well as the PS4.

That's just a placeholder date. Disney says Spring 2013, so I'm guessing some time in March or April.

I know , there are so many cheapy metal case editions out there that even with that thin stuff it would be better. Tho its also subject to dents due to shipping unless packaged right tho....

True, I just wish they would have really knocked it out of the park with he release. That price with the cheapy case, is akin to me, to what happened with Blade Runner HD DVD and BD case. It looked cool...it felt like a cheap toy...ugh. Don't they know that we'd 'drop it like its hot', if it was a higher quality case. Good lord, even I may buy it if it was metal.....

I have had this on pre order since it was available and will happily wait for the outcome. I wonder how many will have cancelled by now......OOPS
