What would the customs duty charges be to the UK on something like this? That's the only reason I avoid buying these sort of things, because I don't really know much about importing.

doing a few calculations today I worked out the set itself was gonna be £95ish plus postage and import duty/customs charge would be about £18 plus the inevitable/possible royal mail handling fee of £8 ...so in the region of £120 But the cheapest postage option was a no no as even though it was only about £6 for delivery the estimated delivery date was late October/early November :hilarious:

The middle option was a better delivery time of a couple of weeks and included the import duties.. but I forget how much it was in total..

so..I went for the most expensive shipping option, fast delivery estimated delivery date to the UK of of Sept 27 - Oct 1 and all customs charges paid, all in it was £127 which I thought was a great deal considering it was only around a fiver more than the 'cheap' option and would be delivered within a few days

...so i bought it :oohyeah:

I don't think you should follow those estimate since they are 95% of the time over exagerated.

I cannot say EXACTLY how it is from US->UK but from UK->Canada, even if I get 3 months estimate, I receive my package within 2 weeks after release day ;)

Is that seriously how much it'd be on something like this? Because if so, then that's no where near what I was expecting!

I may just pre-order this after all. :D

Customes in norway, when you order for more than aprox £20 is:
£20 in customs fees + 25% of the total value of the package. Thats package price + postage fees.

Its insane :)

I went for the cheapest shipping, but I have to contact our customs office to check if there are no extra fees when choosing amazon's fees deposit. If that's the case, I'll cancel and go for the most expensive one, just to get it as soon as possible :)

Yeah that's how much it would roughly come to mate **if** it was caught by customs ;)
Thanks for confirming mate. :)

Not sure if it really makes a difference, but which site would be best to order this from... Amazon.com or Amazon.ca?

[EDIT]

Nevermind... just realised it's cheaper on Amazon.com. Ordered! :oohyeah:

Same here in Slovenia. With some additional costs. And no ''birthday gift'' or whatever will prevent you from paying taxes. Never ever. Plus, if you don't have an original receipt, they'll look for the item on the internet and tax you based on the price they find online. Usually the highest one they can find.

Not sure I'll be getting this set. As great as it looks, it's big and expensive. Have too many orders over the tax limit already to afford this as well. Darrrrrn.

Friends, you are lucky they pay so little for import taxes ...

Recently the U.S. Amazon has changed the way of charging fees on imports, independent of shipping chosen, is charged 100% of value.

I simulate the purchase of the product for you to see:

Now, tell me: is there worse place to import?
