I always liked this artwork. This one I will be getting. Hopefully no embossed boarder on this one but I'm sure there will be.

I even prefer it over my mock-up.

Finally someone that gets it. I am not trying to disparage Zavvi or these steelbooks at all. I am simply providing a more honest representation of what they will likely look like. Sorry if the truth hurts some people but like I said before I am just keeping it real....for good or bad.

And I agree Chunk it would not bother me at all if Poppins looked like that however I would prefer they don't emboss this one but we all know they will.

I'm happy with what you do because unfortunately your pics are probably going to be the closest to what it will actually look like and zavvi don't have the balls to do it themselves, it's horrible you have to do it and they don't (not even a description half the time) but I'm happy that someone does this in their free time.
I've liked all your (probably actual) mockups in the Disney / pixar threads.

Just so long as you know that what Geek Tragedy created is not necessarily what the final product will be. It's possible but not definite.

Geek Tragedy can you please state with each mockup/design in the discussion threads that you also add that this is in no way the final product and it is only a representation of what you would like it to be. We don't want to give folks the wrong impression and that they think that your designs are what it will ultimately look like and help them understand that they are only a mockup. Thanks

Just want to add that I don't actually think geeks mockups are what they are actually going to look like. I just like it because the possibility that he is right. I'm still hoping zavvi surprise us and change the game back to aladdin style starting with pan. We can only hope.

Then why are you only posting these custom mockups in Disney/Zavvi threads? For example, I don't see any posts in the threads from the upcoming Fox wave titles which will most likely be matte and have borders.

thanks AcIdCOR3, I do realise that these are just GT's personal mock ups, I remember when he started posting his own stuff, I do agree though that due to new members joining everyday that there should be a short statement written at the top of each mock to clearly state that they are a members mock ups, I think GT does these designs so well that a lot of peoples first thought would be that they have come from the retailer.

personally, I really enjoy seeing members mock ups, if GT posts Mary Poppins mock up in the Mary Poppins thread that's where I'd be most likely to see it as I pretty much stick to the main steelbook threads.. i'm a little lazy lol.
GT has given us some very sad dull mock ups of what the Disney collection could look like but in a way its a good balance as zavvi show their mock ups all vibrant and colourful without info of embossing what and where, if its gloss or not etc(just look at the little mermaid)what I feel GT is doing is showing us an alternative mock to take a look at, for some of the Disney collection GT's look really dull and it makes me think, if it comes like that I was warned and if it arrives better, with good use of embossing and colours then I will be surprised and delighted

I GT's mock up for Mulan, and I hope zavvi take a look at his mock ups for inspiration as I think Disney/Zavvi need a little inspiration

i think its quite obvious that the mock ups are made in jest.. most people are moaning that what was advertised is not what we got. my interpretation is the mock ups are made in anticipation of what is most likely to come.

its ironic that a user can make a moc-up that gives a (likely) true to life representation of what the steel will look like, even including the embossing, while zavvi have not gone to that trouble. no indication of the embossing was given by zavvi's mock ups.

so if anything, the user mock ups are very helpful. more so that the ones zavvi are providing. if zavvi dont want to become a laughing stock, maybe they should provide better mock ups themselves, ones that actually represent the products we receive. ...instead of coming down on a user who is just being humorous, creative, and actually helpful.

How about Amazon then? Play? Most retailers in the UK (asian steelbooks tease us with in hand pics ) just show mock ups and have no intention of changing even after release. I think geeks work is good but in no way does it stop me from ordering, i have a brain apparently and choose my orders based on my views of the movie or the mock up artwork.

Because I do not share the same passion towards collecting steelbooks and movies from those other studios. Simple as that.
