Is it too much to ask for both? I haven't seen the current disc, but I would welcome any upgrade in video or audio quality (obviously).

The discs already exist in Europe with better encodes and HD audio so there is no excuse. It's not like they have to start from scratch, the masters are already done.

Do they have UK ratings on them if so would suggest a shoe-in no problem as already rated no new certification needed.
