Anything regarding the upcoming season goes here! I will sticky this thread that way it stays on top of the section. So discuss everything about the league's happening here. Enjoy!

I saw a great comment on Twitter this morning: Happy Birthday to Don Shula. The Dolphins had Chad Henne deliver the cake but it was intercepted by another birthday party.

Texans kept Kubiak, I wonder if that was a right move .... too much talent on the Texans to suck that much.

Colts
Ravens
Saints
Eagles

I don't think they should have, but Kubiak fired the DC, so that diverts some of the negative attention off of him. Plus, teams that are on the fence about their coach will probably keep their current coach because they don't want to be paying multiple coaches if a lock out does actually happen.

There defense was their problem, true. They could score but they had like the worst pass defense in the league.

Hopefully with the #11 pick we can get a young stud of a defensive player. And ofcourse keep Foster, Johnson, and Schaub along the way.

Guess what Raiders fans, you are getting a new coach for next year. Last night, the Raiders decided to not pick up the option in Cable's contract, and cut him loose. Rumors are out there that it will be Hue Jackson, the OC, but they are also looking at Jim Harbaugh, the head coach for Stanford.

Bill Williamson of ESPN wrote:

The San Francisco 49ers sealed Tom Cable’s fate on Tuesday when they asked permission to talk to Oakland offensive coordinator Hue Jackson about their vacant head-coaching opening.

Apparently, Oakland owner Al Davis felt he had no choice but to respond by creating a head-coaching opening of his own.

From what I've seen as well, the Raiders could get left high and dry on this one too if Jackson would leave for the 49ers.

Looks like Wreck's Texans are getting Wade Phillips for as the defensive coordinator. If I remember right, he's a really good DC, but a bad head coach.

It also looks like it's going to be a bidding war between the 49ers and Miami for Jim Harbaugh. At the moment, Miami is in the lead offering a reported $8M per year for a coach that has no NFL coaching experience, and they haven't even fired their current head coach yet!

Miami dropped out this morning, but man...it's gonna be awkward around the Sparano household next year! EEK!

+1 It kinda has the feeling where the owners are saying we wanted that guy, but you'll do.

Looks like the 49ers have a shot at him again.

I was reading a report this morning that stated the Dolphins owner wanted an immediate commitment to South Beach if they were gonna pony up that kind of money (7/8 mil a year).

Seems like he wasn't willing to do that, and of course the Dolphins didn't satisfy the Rooney rule anyway, so that was a bit messy too.

Also just heard that the Broncos might want to set up an interview as well. Given Gore's hip problems, the issues at QB in San Fran...it might not be a done deal yet.

UPDATE: Horhay's Browns will be looking for a new coach. They just fired Eric Mangini.

I still dont get the relation between Horhay and the Browns, He's not from cleveland or Ohio, and the Browns have always sucked in his life time.

Is it just a brown pride thing? lol. The Browns esse! Big fan of UPS?

I think it was the first team that popped into his head when I told him he had to have a favorite team. :p

The browns will continue to suck, which is fine by me, as it's usually easy pickings for my steelers. It doesn't matter what coach they have, you have to have enough players that are quality players, that the coach can do something with.

Good luck to the Niners, who actually got their man today...at 6 million / year. EEK!
