I personally HATED the steelbook art. Like, so much that I refused to even buy it. And Nightcrawler was one of my favorite movies last year. I was even on board to buy the original Zavvi Whiplash steelbook artwork. But the UK art is probably the worst cover I've seen in years.

As a steelbook? I guess so. Never wanted to buy it. But that art as lenticular would be better than what we have here.

I guess I can see that. Maybe with more/full color though. I'm not a fan of the just black outlining and red text. I think that's why I'm perfectly happy with the lenti they are going with. The vibrance of the red car clashing with the dimly lit green street scene and yellow text. I love it.

They had the right idea with this artwork (fore, mid, and background imagery to focus the lenti on) but whoever photoshopped the image to stretch it in either direction did a terrible job. Both Jake and the car look forced.

I think the announcement art would have made a better lenticular. Or something like this (as creepy as it is I'd buy it):

Well, in the past there has been a GB at HDN by Masterblaster (and some by apsmith21) for pretty much every Novamedia steelbook release. Might not be happening at HDN any more, though.

As to the "why" (there would be a GB) part - it has not always been trivially easy to whack in a Novamedia pre-order Remembering Drive, and not that fondly
