Yesterday, it was announced by producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli of EON Productions and MGM that 007 will return to U.S. theaters for the 25th instalment of the James Bond franchise on November 8, 2019. Now The New York Times is reporting that current franchise star Daniel Craig will return for this next chapter in the Bond cinematic legacy! Although not official, the Times had contact with two sources close to the production who said Craig had signed on despite previous statements that he was finished with the role. It will be Craig’s fifth film in the James Bond franchise.

If so, that Craig returns for another, I would be REALLY pissed. Even if Spectre wasn't as good as Skyfall, it was a perfect IMO ending. Love the guy, loved what he's done to the franchise, but I was 200% sure it was a nice closing...

Exactly my beef with it. I love Daniel's 007 but he was supposed to be done. Spectre was supposed to be a closure and now he's returning? :squint: How many times are they gonna do this?

I agree with you both  The ending of Spectre was a good closure for Daniel Craig, I would prefer if he had a brief appearance in this only to pass the torch to another agent (just my 2 cents) ;)

I never saw Spectre as closure for Daniel Craig... I actually thought it left it wide open for his return (and Christoph Waltz's). Hopefully Bond 25 is his last though, because his attitude towards the character/films stinks, so I think someone more appreciative deserves the role.

I watched 'Me Before You' on Hulu with Alyssa over the weekend and there was a segment where I thought, "Hey! Sam Claflin would be an awesome Bond"!

Up for Craig as bond again as long as it's better than spectre

I've only seen him in one or two films and I wasn't a big fan unfortunately... I'd be willing to give him a chance though I suppose, as I would anyone who replaces DC. :)

How many times have you seen Spectre? I found it to be pretty disappointing when I first saw it, but then I watched it again not too long ago and really enjoyed it... probably helped that I knew what to expect the second time around though.

Only once,

I was going to watch blade tonight but now I'm swaying on giving spectre another go

I think where skyfall was literally one of the best made bonds it set the bar too high for spectre so I was annoyed for a bunch of reasons. But I really like Craig as bond, he's one of my favourites although he ruins a lot of other films with dodgy accents (except layer cake - by far his best film)
But then I also liked quantum of solace so what do I know

It's up to you mate, but if you don't watch it tonight, then you should definitely give it another go at some point.

Yeah, I also expected something just as epic as Skyfall, especially since it had the same director. Craig has definitely been great as Bond and he's changed the game IMO... I do enjoy the older films, but I'm glad they got rid of the cheesiness.

Oh man, I fell asleep during Quantum of Solace and have only watched it once since then, so I can't remember much about it. Will give it another watch at some point though!

And remember, it's always better to Watch QOS right after watching Casino Royale as it's so connected in many ways...
Oh... then I really don't remember much about it at all, as I thought it was completely separate! You've got me wanting to rewatch it now lol.

Well then... seems now it's confirmed...

Well, during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Craig was asked if he'll be back as James Bond and immediately answered in the affirmative. "I always wanted to, I wanted a break," the actor added about why it's taken a while (that's an understatement) for this news to be confirmed.

MGM has also made the news official - before you doubt Craig's word - with the following statement: "Daniel Craig will return as 007 in Bond 25. The actor confirmed he would play James Bond for the fifth time to host Stephen Colbert on The Late Show. Bond 25 will be released in US cinemas on November 8, 2019 with a traditional early release in the UK and the rest of the world."

Don't get me wrong, I'll Watch it too. Will probably enjoy it too, but my point is that I thought that with Spectre, it made a nice "ending" for the current Bond and would have been a "perfect" timing for a new one...
I feel the same way ;)
