Oh no, not the phantom white, re: noir (white shadowed) steelbook.
cancelled order as well, would of been 75.00 USD for the that. if i see it later down the line for 35.00 or less, might snap it up.
This finish can look good, as I recall from The Equalizer Steelbook, but it doesn't work with this artwork. The artwork itself is rather unsuitable for a Steelbook, as there are hardly any opportunities for interesting metallic effects.

I still don't understand why the title doesn't have debossing of the individual letters. Somehow, this is a new trend and is being done more and more often, see also Cutthroat Island by Studiocanal.

As a collector, I also wonder what can be done about this, apart from not buying the Steelbook. And why is Scanavo doing this, when they know there are other options?

Just got mine too! I'm happy with it. Big fan of the artwork used on the front of the slipcase also. Nice little booklet and the character cards are cool

Unfortunately for the EU produced steelbooks via Scanavo there has to be a distance greater then 1mm between lettering for deboss/emboss to be able to perform correctly. If this distance doesn't meet the spec in any one position of the title they will only be able to perform what they have done here with this one, or not emboss/deboss at all.

Annoyingly this doesn't apply to the Factory in China which use different specs. You would have thought being the same company you could expect the same tolerances in design all round.

That's interesting to know. Thanks for sharing the info

tbh with this release the silver instead of white is every bit as much of an issue as the horrific debossing

yes,I know
but what they did doesn't make sense for a title
It does, assuming they'd been able to deboss it intricately. There are lots of examples like this, unfortunately. It was never supposed to be embossed, though. The frame wouldn't suit the design, and I believe the title is actually too high up anyway.

Got mine today from zavvi. I've not opened it yet, but it's so annoying how every single Universal Full Slip I get has a completely off-center spine print. It just looks so cheaply made and my OCD brain hates that.

Then Universal could have made the title lettering a little larger and the problem would have been solved.

Universal and Scanavo managed to do this with the Wolf Man Steelbook.
