Here in capitalist America we somehow created a single day where there are an insane amount of discounts on all kinds of stuff (which makes me question the 40-70% markup on the original price anyways) and people who have hefty credit cards go out and buy all this crap up simply because "We're getting a great deal"
now, there are a small few of us who capitalize on this opportunity to pick up some minor things.. but we don't trample, stomp, and abhor the other shoppers like these yucknuts who wait in line before the store opens just so they can be the first to get to the deals...
it's madness....

It's more madness than anyone has ever seen, Budden. It is always the friday after Thanksgiving as well. That day is typically a holiday so that only adds to the retail madness here.

i may try and get something, but no way am i waking up any earlier than 8 am to do so. ill prolly skip out this year tho since most of my christmas shopping is done.

Of the few things I've actually cared to do in advance, xmas shopping starts in january for me! Soooo much easier to have it out of the way... easier on the wallet too.
its greedy to buy cheap things?
or greedy for a corp to sell stuff uber cheap (lossleaders) so people will buy other stuff too?
what I think is funny is the general consumer doesn't realize the retailers still make money off these sales, they just aren't getting the 50-70% markup they normally have it priced at.
They make you think you're getting it on sale, really you're just buying it at ~5-10% markup rather than the full 100% markup

more than half of the stuff is stuff that is just piling up in the warehouse that never got sold.

I think the only greed comes from the folks who stomped and trampled over that one guy last year and he died.
Not only do people get stomped to death, nobody even cares. These people killed someone to get a $700 tv, it's disgusting.
