Release from January 6,2011:

"The most anticipated Blu-ray release ever -- the Star Wars Saga -- emerges from light speed this September 2011. For the first time, all six of George Lucas' epic films (Episodes I-VI) are united in one complete set. Fans worldwide are able to pre-order now with online retailers.

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment will release Star Wars in three distinct sets to meet the needs of every Star Wars fan:

Star Wars: The Complete Saga on Blu-ray (9-disc Set includes all six films)
Star Wars: Prequel Blu-ray Trilogy (3-disc set includes Episodes I-III)
Star Wars: Original Blu-ray Trilogy (3-disc set includes Episodes IV-VI)
Star Wars: The Complete Saga on Blu-ray will feature all six live-action Star Wars feature films utilizing the highest possible picture and audio presentation, along with three additional discs and more than 30 hours of extensive special features including never-before-seen deleted and alternate scenes, an exploration of the exclusive Star Wars archives, and much more.

Star Wars: The Complete Saga on Blu-ray will be available for $139.99 US/$179.99 CAN and the Star Wars: Trilogy Sets for $69.99 US/89.99 CAN. Pricing for each set will vary by international territory.

Flanked by a legion of his finest Imperial stormtroopers, Darth Vader himself joined Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment President Mike Dunn at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) to announce the release, vowing "The forces of the Empire will be at your disposal to assure the success of this endeavor."

"The Star Wars Saga is the most anticipated Blu-ray collection since the launch of the high-def format," Dunn said. "The epic franchise pioneered sound and visual presentation in theaters and is perfectly suited to do it again in the home, with a viewing experience only possible with Blu-ray."

"With all six episodes available for the first time in one collection, this is a great way for families and home audiences to experience the complete Saga from start to finish," said Doug Yates, Vice President of Marketing, Online, Distribution, Lucasfilm Ltd. "And with the quality of high-definition, Blu-ray provides the most immersive home experience possible."

"The Star Wars franchise has been the most anticipated Blu-ray release by Amazon's customers," said Bill Carr, Vice President of Music and Video at Amazon.com. "We think that Star Wars will be incredibly popular with our customers, and we expect pre-orders to be very strong.""

Thanks Dave S @ TBS.

Lucas loses Supreme Court case (and his stormtrooper copyright)

http://blastr.com/assets_c/2010/10/Stormtrooper101810-thumb-550x244-49433.jpg

Back in 2009, George Lucas saw his lawsuit against prop designer Andrew Ainsworth, who manufactured replica stormtrooper helmets, squashed by the U.K.'s High Court, and so he appealed to a higher authority. (No, not Yoda.) But now the U.K. Supreme Court has delivered its own decision, which is: "Sorry, George!"

Andrew Ainsworth, the prop designer who made the original stormtrooper helmets for Star Wars (he was paid £20 per helmet and £385 per suit of armor back then), has been manufacturing replicas for the past eight years. Lucasfilm didn't like that, and has been trying to shut him down every since.....

In the mexican forum supervaca a México city member has posted that Salto del Agua street market has the box sets already, if this is true maybe we will have some pics by night.

Release date for México is Sept. 14

I got the trilogies on my hands minutes ago, Mexico version has a side slipcover, very cheap art and text all over the top of the cover, not so nice finishing.

Still not for sale but already arrive to stores, complete box set has not yet arrived.

Tonight is Me and the BEST trilogy EVER :oohyeah:

(is there other trilogy?)

---------- Post added at 07:39 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:42 PM ----------

I'm at scene when Luke meets Obi Wan

very good PQ and AQ, lots of details (for me)

Obi Wan scream not so bad, its more large and noisier

Just finished New Hope, the best of it was being joined with my oldest daugther, totally a priceless moment, she liked it (even played in English) I thanked her for this gift to me (snif)

I'm pleased with the presentation.

now loading the one and only Empire Strickes Back

I'm Star Wars movies fan and after watching New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back I'm completely satisfied with the blu ray presentation.

ESB is colorful and has lot of details, PQ/AQ is very good (to me).

Tonight will close this "sugar rush" with Return of the Jedi, since my daughter want to watch when Darth Vader take out his helmet.

I'll be getting the entire saga myself and will probably never watch the prequels. I only want the OT and the extras :scat: The prequels are awful films.

I am glad I am not the only one doing this, I bet we are not the only ones out there. My reasoning is that I just want the complete set, even if the prequels are crap. The completionist in me says "get the whole set"
